Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

We cannot complain about other teams spending money - we wanted our club to do the same when we were on top (and we possibly should have done the same but delayed doing it)

The media just pander to the biggest audience - anyone bothered about what those sycophants say or write needs to give their heads a wobble.
I'm not sure it's even 'the biggest audience' with them lot. Journalists just aren't allowed to criticise them, which has morphed into pandering to their every whim.

Newcastle holding out for £150mil would be a great move for them....unfortunately finding a replacement seems the issue

I like Isak, hes world class but even in this crazy landscape he isn’t a £150mil player, especially given hes had a fair few injuries and is quite reliant on pace

Newcastle missing out on Sesko to United and Guehi going to the Dippers would be a real kick in the teeth for them
Going to market to buy a replacement when the selling clubs know you've got (or about to have) £150m in your pocket presents problems in itself.

That player that was £50m? He's now £80m.

PSR likes this.

The pressure will definitely be on as most people will see them as red hot favourites for the league if they sign Isak.

£120m or £200m it doesnt really matter. What matters is Newcastle cannot replace him regardless of how much they get.

Theres a dirth of strikers out there and all the best ones available this summer have already moved, they'll be substantially weaker without him and looking at the window they've had so far. Top 5 doesnt seem realistic without him. Missing out on that alone for 1 year covers half the fee bid.

Then add to that the message it sends when you sell your best player. Thats not a club with ambition, thats not a club wanting to be CL regulars competing for trophies. Newcastle have to hold on to him regardless of what he does. When the window closes he'll shut his mouth and get on with it in a world cup year, Newcastle just have to ride out the next month.

I'd be staggered if they allow him to leave, the only thing I can see in favour of him leaving is Newcastle dont current have a DoF, Howe himself is handling transfers from what I read, he might not be as ruthless in insisting they dont sell.

I hope Newcastle don't buckle and stick to the £150m asking price, but I suspect this gets done at £135 -140m.

Hugely rich club, ran like a corner fucking shop

Who knows? In terms of probabilities, I, and maybe the bookies, wouldn't give them 50%. That is, even if they sign Isak, it's more likely they fail.

For starters, the new players will need time. Liverpool lost two firm starters and both Salah and VVD are a year older...
They are also short in numbers in central defence, however I expect their spending spree will continue and they will follow up their interest in Guerhi.

We all know they’ll get him in the end. Crazy window from them. They’ll win the league again this year but it’s funny to see the Liverpool fans crying in the comments that Newcastle should just roll over and let him go.
Yeah, dipper fans don’t tend to be the brightest and are hugely entitled.

Plus weakening Newcastle hoping that their raggy cousins can push for top 6.
Remember the cartel's meal all those years ago.
These fuckers are in bed with each other

am I the only one now thinking that 80m including bonuses looks fucking weak compared to Isak price we ended up with Alvarez? and Alvarez few years younger, and not one bit worse striker. if anything better in getting wingers into play which favours dippers who do have high G+A wingers unlike us currently.

I do not think Alvarez is a worse striker than Isak so 1.5-2x price is madness. we may have gave him away too cheap. in a market 60m gets you Solanke, 70m Hojlund and 140m Isak, Alvarez much closer to Isak range for sure if not the same range.
bit different profile, but Alvarez less injury prone, much better at pressing and younger, while Isak is taller, better in the air, more of a finisher than all around attacker.

can see him being impatient if Atletico aint winning big soon and his next move could be 120m+ but could have worth that much last summer too.

Bit harsh, we never had PSR slowing us down but still took Mansour 4 seasons for us to win the title

Newcastle have made champions league twice in the last 4 years under PIF but really they've been handcuffed the last 2 years for pushing on

They now have one of the best XI in the league and are getting their best player poached and their top targets moving elsewhere because financially they have all this money but can do F all with it

Probably is a bit harsh but i have no sympathy for them, Newcastle fans i've talked to since our takeover have been every bit as cunty about our club as red cartel fans.
Fuck 'em
