Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Gentlemen’s agreements do exist — and rightfully so, if only are done between gentlemen.
But the problem begins when the agreement is no longer between gentlemen. When one party is a snake, a predator, and the other an unsuspecting prey. And we’re seeing this unfold far too often in football.
Which makes me ask, why do players keep choosing to be prey? My sympathy has run dry for them.

If you're naive enough to gamble your entire career by entrusting it to someone who may not have your best interests at heart, a so-called "beneficiary" who sees you as leverage or profit — then maybe you deserve the consequences.
Because in this game, ignorance is no excuse, and being naive/foolish can be fatal to your career progression.
Gentlemen agreements are stupid. Thats the whole point of a contract. So you can act at arm's length. Whether you are a gentleman or not.

Anyone claiming to have a gentleman's agreement is the snake in my eyes. Don't ask for or consent to s Gentleman's agreement.

We are seeing release clauses much more often now. See Eze and MGW.

Why did we not bid for Eze in the Summer after the FA Cup Final and before the CWC? Cerki might be good, on the other hand he might not be. I prefer proven Premier League players which is a market we have not tapped in a while.
Correct, we should of bought charlie adam instead of david silva, saying you prefer proven Premier League players wouldn't get us anywhere, for every very good Premier player there is 2 players of equal ability for less money

Dippers at work believe that this is basically done, its not getting announced until the Toon have a replacement - apparently so they don't get fleeced with the prices of a replacement. I don't believe that bit but would not be surprised that they have agreement with the player and the clubs are agreeing or are close to agreeing a fee. Some window for the Dippers if it happens, but I am lost as to how they can spend this much. I can't get my head around PSR

Even After Isak they can spend another 200M. PSR is just there to preserve the status quo unless you have 3-4 good years as a team in a row to somehow start to compete

You will have to explain that to me.. we should be able to spend as much as we like then surely, we have been making profits on transfers for years and have the greatest income.

All i know is that 1 pure sale( academy player as an example) allows you to spend x5 more.
Liverpool barely spend in the last 5 years compared to others do apparently they can invest it all into this season.

They have the same net spend as we do over the last 5 years, we should be kicking the shit out of them in the transfer market.

We are not in top 7 in the last 4 years in terns of net spend, dunno about the last 5, but I think Liverpool have spent more than us net wise, mayby much more.

Guess those 115 charges force us to spend less in order to avoid accusations of ruining the league...

That’s basically what the media has been saying. They can spend more. Sorry for not bullshitting
And you are incapable of looking at your squad and signings over the last 5 years yourself. Ok.

Liverpool are one of the biggest spenders.

No issue with that whatsoever btw, good for them.

But just cut the spin bullshit, that's all.
