Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

He’d invoke the Webster ruling if he wasn’t ever considered for selection.

At the moment, the club don’t need to as he’s on strike.
He is the one making himself not considered for selection, this is completely different.

If he shows up to training and plays, that's what Newcastle would prefer and all of this would have been alot more ammicable.

Guy signed a new contract a month or two ago. I'm sure he was happy to take the increased wages offered. Maybe at that point he should have said forget the increase, I'll have a release clause instead. He's a prick.

I actually don't mind if he ends up at Liverpool from a football perspective, as I'm not sure he's that great a fit and he's also been a bit fragile in the past. Newcastle should be making a complaint about the obvious tapping up though, and if he does go there, every crowd should give him shit every game.

Sure, as I said, the club don’t need to consider him for selection currently.

However, should he return and start training, probably in September if he’s still there, then the club can’t just let him rot in the reserves. That’s when the Webster ruling could apply.

Although I don’t support it, we should acknowledge it’s what players do.

Van Dyck did it to Southampton to go there, and he went, so Liverpool won’t care.
Mind you, Nunes, Mahrez and, to some extent, so did Sterling all to get to City (Kane tried as well)…

Did any of them make a statement this extreme while still refusing to hand in a transfer request though?

If promises were made as he is implying, then he should have learnt from Kane at Spurs, get it in writing or they're worth Jack shit.

Why are they keeping a player who doesnt want to play for them ? This would never happen at this club. If someone did that then Pep wouldve got rid of him the moment he embarrassed the club. Let Liverpool deal with the drama, he will have a meltdown in 2 years after Madrid comes for him.
£150 million maybe says keep him. Why bend over for red scouse. They have clearly tapped him up like Van Dick, rinse repeat.

Look at what Levy did despite all Kane did for them.

If a club comes to an agreement with a player, then changes their mind. Making the player see out their contract, in whatever way they see fit, all the work they have done improving the prospects of the club, are taking a huge hit.

Some posters are letting their hearts overrule their head. Imagine you're a talented footballer and your dream is to play for City.
You're offered the chance to join a club, that took the step of forcing a player to see out 3 years of his contract, when he declared his desire to leave.
You are also offered the chance to join Aston Villa. You are destined to be the star player but are on a 5 year deal.

In that scenario, which club would you rather be at, when City come calling 2 years into your contract?

He seems very naive. Promises are worth fuck all in football, that's why you need to get it down in writing and in the contract.
He's so full of shit. What promises exactly? He's a fucking liar with no class. If I were playing for Newcastle I'd make sure he'd fake being sick at least two times a year in future seasons.

A player has every right to run down their contract and leave on a free (Bosman Ruling), but if they're under contract the club can demand whatever they want for the player.

I think the stronger Newcastle appear by not caving in, the more likely they get better players over the long term, as players will consider them a serious club and not just a stepping stone.

Their ambition imo should be to become the most powerful club North of Manchester, then the North and then England. They should have a 20 year plan and Isak should be a battle they don't want to lose on this campaign.

That said, it suits us fine if they bend and stay beholding to the top teams and PSR.

Haven't a clue but he's obviously under the impression that he was told he could leave. Haven't a clue if that's true or what the circumstances were that he could leave under, or if he's just talking shit.

what goes around comes around
When a player downs tools it shows the real player inside Loyalty goes out the window

Why not just get on with the job in hand and play for your club, if the club wants you to stay then you have to play and let the club sort out a deal that would be right for them and not you, Newcastle should slap a £200million price tag on him and if anybody want to pay it then OK the player talks to the buying club

It’s quite simple, if he wasn’t a greedy rat he could quite easily hand in a transfer request and forget about his loyalty bonus.

In his statement he said Newcastle have known about his position for a long time? Well at the end of last season he said he was happy there and as far as I’m aware he did the media shoots for this seasons kit. Which is it? They’ve known for a long time and what he said in interviews was a lie or it’s a recent issue as his statement contradicts his past actions.

He’s been tapped up and now wants out and is doing everything he can (except give up a bit of £££ of course) to get out.

Of course you’d defend his behaviour. Heaven forbid anyone dares to better themselves by leaving the cult though.

He signed a contract so fuck him and fuck the murdering cunts club is my honest opinion..
Let the **** rot before giving in to him joining the murderers..
You did it with Dick Van over hyped but Newcastle shouldn't give in to your shitstain of a club

Has anybody said or mentioned Liverpool is breaking the rules here
The player is under contract and under the rules, nobody can talk to a player from another club who is under contract

Legally, Newcastle should be reporting Liverpool to the Premier League about unsettling one of their players
