If you think that “Jaack” was doing that for anything other than self-publicity, or that that video was “the most damaging to Johnson amongst young voters” then that’s up to you. I give them a bit more credit than that.

Those YouTubers are better role models than any of the current politicians so I don't think it's bad that they would respect them more than the career bickerers in Parliament.

Mr Beast tried living underwater and opened a shit takeaway and made £40m off YT last year and that was not from people of my age I can assure you. This guy probably has a million and a half to two million YT followers - he will be on all the other platforms I am sure - if youngsters who are immune to BBC and SKY News see this and look into whats going on then in my book thats a good thing

Operation Big Dog - he has named it so himself - he is so fucking out of touch its untrue

Mr Beast in fairness is one of YT greatest philanthropists. Gives million and millions away and is a credit.
That Jack bloke seems like a fucking dick.

The thing is with this whole shit show at the moment is just driving more and more from voting in all elections weather be local or the general in 2024 people are giving up on politics.
And that’s sad especially after what generations went through. People are fed up of it they won’t bother to vote, And that’s dangerous.

True, but on the bright side, job applications to the Cabinet Office are up.

never said he wasn't - but I'd reckon amongst the youth he has waaaayy more reach than Johnson or JRM. The Tories appeal is in a group of old people who are dying off - they cannot alter their appeal.

I am 60. Growing up I had friends and colleagues of similar vintage in the era of Thatcher and Major and Kinnock and John Smith and the range of political awareness was broad. Yes this may reduce things to a bit of a circus but it raises awareness in young people. My 23 year old daughter was politically disinterested and homeless until recent events but the parties that took place whilst she couldn't meet with friends and the memory of the Queen sat on her own at the funeral made her cry - things like this are cutting through.

My son is a couple of years older and has always leant to the left - he cannot understand why someone who shares his sexuality would think Johnson is ok - he campaigned to get York their Labour MP and he can't discuss Johnson unless you accept his conversation will be expletive laden.

Interestingly they both went to Uni's where John Sentamu was chancellor - they met him and can confirm that his views on Johnson are scathing.

Really wouldn't diss what YouTubers do and the influence they can exert - have you seen the news about Mr Beast today? That stunt outside Downing Street could be the most damaging to Johnson amongst young voters that there is. The world has changed - Murdoch's tentacles may reach out to " angry of Bournemouth" but YouTube reaches people who are unaware of Murdoch's existence
I don't think anybody is questioning the potential of YouTube and other 'new ' media to reach beyond the tentacles of Murdoch and his like. I'm just struggling with the idea that paying people to mock up and channel their inner Johnson is a positive example. There is not a dead cat in hells chance that Johnson will stand again in a GE so why make it all about him?
