Yes, Boris and Chums are facing an emergency on all fronts! Don't interrupt them NOW!
Ok, it's been going on for several years now, and it's rather obvious they are both somewhat to blame for it existing and making it worse... you could say, that's all they are doing, all they have ever done, making it all sound like an emergency so a section of the population never stop acting on fear and wise up.
But really! Now? With Russia at the door - no time to change PM!
WHERE THE FUCK WHERE YOU WHEN CRIMEA AND SYRIA HAPPENED?
Blathering on about Immigrants. Blaming the EU. SOVERINTEEE!
Those will be the immigrants Putin made sure to sent northwards out of Syria in their hundreds of thousands when he got involved in Syria.
Some people are too scared to ever be allowed to decide things ever again. Unsavoury politicians pick you up and work you out in seconds, make you into their playthings. Stopping that from ruining everything, is the democratic duty and life long effort of the rest of us.
What if he survives? Nadine the new chancellor more sleaze coming down the track
Of course he can survive. In opposition. He'll never lose the truly fearful people. 30% is doable at the next election whatever. The question is, do any Tories fancy that? Red wall and all the other swing seats, and a couple of safe areas now unsafe. That is a huge number of MPs losing their job. And the rest, might look at him, and think, he'll just use us and ruin any prospects of it working for us, anyway. Some would even be principled enough to reject him anyway.
If they change the 1922 committee rules, he won't survive. If they don't, they can get him next year. If he survived - he's got shit loads of enquiries and bad news to suffer yet.
There really is no hurry for the Tories. And I'm ok with that. He'll drop some money on average and poor people in a week or two. It won't work. The economy and all the rest will still be up shit creek. They'll get voted out just because of the mess and poor services. And then Labour will pay for his largesse by taxing corporations and other people who can afford it.
It's not right. They should be really careful, and the money should remain there for services and the future. But it's not the worst outcome, for a lot of people. It's better than Javid demolishing the NHS and Sunak refusing to help anyone. As for Boris surviving, he is playing short term... and it will cost him what little support he still has with the Tories.
The real problem is going to be, half the money will go on measures feathering nests of the rather well off.
That's obvious. He's not careful or accurate in that way to win the centre. He'll just leave himself and them with nowhere to go. Literally doomed. All he cares about is another year with good contacts, people who want favours, and his face being plastered literally everywhere.
