Anti Tory does not make you a lefty.

It does for many on here. I think their big issue is they bought a dud at the GE - they thought Johnson was the bollox whereas he has turned out to be an arsehole but they didn't keep their receipt and there are no refunds so rather than accept that they have to back the failure they put in place.

I do 100% believe that Boris is doing his best to save lives

Maybe, but when you're not up to it.....

You're not up to it.

Look at Germany. Look at New Zealand. Do your own research, make your mind up and come back and confirm that’s still what you think.
If this is ‘his best’ then it’s woefull.
This is the most alarming thing for me from his blind supporters.

“He’s doing his best” as if that makes it all alright!

It’s not Primary School sports day. You don’t get a badge and a kiss off mummy for “doing your best”.

It’s been an absolute clusterfuck from beginning to end, and if this is his “best” I’d hate to see what his criminally complacent looks like.

Tories are ideologically hard wired to fuck up in a crisis like this, and Johnson's peculiar brand of stick your finger in your ear and go ting-a-ling-a-loo Toryism particularly so.

Tories have never given a fuck about the well being of the masses, it's just not who they are, so they're ill suited to come to the masses rescue in a situation like this.

That's not true of all conservative politicians, Angela Merkel is, after all, the leader of the centre-right Christian Democratic Union, but here civic conservatism has only ever been a fringe idea. Bit like compassionate conservatism and one nation Toryism, sound bites to blow the dust off from time to time, nothing more.

Its reported that he now no longer allows the use of the word "austerity" preferring to say "the A word " instead. Its the approach of a 5 year old not a 55 year old - if you don't like something, don't mention it and it will go away. Thing is he knows the damage that has been done to this country in the last 10 years and he is well aware of his part in it all.

He is, the only way he's gone is if he fucks up so spectacularly that his friends can't cover his arse, if that happens there'll be a Palace coup, and he'll be replaced by an acceptable face of traditional Toryism.

We'll still be fucked, but the Tories will still be in power, which for them is all that matters.

That's a very good point Perfect. Will the Tory masses turn on him after such a landslide victory? Don't think so. Brexit is looming and they want him in charge. He can't f..k Brexit up as we will just leave without a deal which h, and many of his supporters, probably wants anyway.

In all fairness mate, the furlough scheme and scheme for the unemployed is about as left wing a policy as I can ever remember from a Tory government.

Of course it was the right thing to do, but if Labour had announced such a huge state stimulus package, Tory supporters would have been foaming at the mouth.

I think since the U-turn, they’ve been throwing everything at it.

The problem was before the U-turn, keep the economy running at all costs, herd-immunity, “so be it” if thousands die, not bothering to source PPE.

The fiscal response since the U-turn has not been very Tory at all. It’s the 3 months of buffoonery beforehand that’s caused the chaos and I don’t even put that down to Tory ideology as much as I do down to Boris’ ineptitude.

Agree with most of that
Actually think Boris wants to be a very centrist government to keep seats he won that are not usually Tory
Wouldn’t agree with 3 months statement as thAt basically means we needed to know about it before China did

Doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, or because you have to, is still doing the right thing, even if your heart's not in it, and Sunak's heart is clearly not in it.

Johnson? One bad apple, or the village idiot, has been used too often by governments and institutions to cover a multitude of deep rooted sins, it rarely holds up to scrutiny.
