Officially reopens later after a 'facelift' that has taken the best part of two years. I'm biased obviously living in Whalley Range but I think it's all looking stunning and it's something the people of Moss Side and Whalley Range can finally be extremely proud of. Some of the work they have done is fantastic. Despite the fearsome reputation this place had in the past it's now a thing of beauty and something to be enjoyed.

It's always been a place of beauty. Sad to see the loss of so many trees, to be honest.

But they have planted new ones mate. Have you seen it now?

I can remember the times i went to nursery there...We used to run out to the fence when the police on their horses paraded past. They were stabled there I think.....brilliant place that people ended up avoiding.....wouldn't go through it Lets hope its sorted for the community to use now

I work in the Alex Park area, the whole atmosphere has changed the last couple of years. It's now very cultural and with the new university being finished of down the road it has options to become very diverse.

I might go for accident next week as the new park does look amazing.

One question, when they drained the duck pond a few months ago, did they rehouse the terrapins? I know the police where there incase any weapons were found.

5.5 million spent to bring it back to its former glory and people complain that a few trees have been chopped down. unbelievable.
