There were some decent sized carp in the pond - where did they go?

Huge Carp, Pike and various other's were all dredged out by Police Frogmen and rehomed up in the Lake District when the pond was cleared. To the questions about the Ducks? Yes it has more Ducks, Moorhens etc than ever before. The Terrapins that have been in it since the Moss Side riots in 1981 have also been removed and rehomed and this has allowed birds to breed without the siblings being snatched and killed from underneath. The pond itself has also been tidied up. A full day of events is planned today, be taking a walk across shortly.

have they re-stocked it? went jogging through there a few weeks back and it looked like they'd pegged it out for fishing.
Did you manage to hang on to your trainers?

Where I used to go and play as a kid (lived on Claremont Road). Anyone remember that big greenhouse insidetthe main gate on Princess Road?
Yes, went to Bishop Bilsborrow and we'd go around them when we had our nature classes. They're long gone, mate.
So did I. Late sixties through to around '72, when we moved to Longsight. I know they're a long time gone alright, as I paid the odd visit down there when I was coming over for games at Maine Road.
