you mention bojan but not probably dozens of them who some fans and their families thought they deserved a chance but pep didn't think so and let them go what proved to be good decision. Or those that he introduced and who went to be good.

I agree with you that nobody on Earth is immune on mistakes but it's the average of good decisions that make gaps between good or bad judgers. ANd I'd say our average wasn't bad at all, nobody we let go still did not prove us significantly wrong. But it will happen, sooner or later. Giving them a chance or not. It's football. We let go Dzeko for Bony and it was mistake. So of course some young player will slip through our hands.

If they could, there wouldn't be so many mistakes made over the years keeping the wrong kids & moving on the wrong kids, & failling to see talent in non league etc etc.

And Pep couldn't even get it right with Bojan, giving him 100 games for Barca, never mind watching him in training.

Non of these people know, they just use a best guess but sometimes even then, they can't see the wood for the trees & get it wrong.

If there was a person in football anywhere who could look at a kid in training & be sure whether or not he'd be a top player, that man would be worth ten times Mbappe's transfer fee. In fact a hundred times it.
Haha all of that is utter nonsense

I also understand our current policy to sell with buy back clauses those that hopefully will be in horse racing terms improvers.
Eventually we will hit gold and the player is proven to be at least similar to players we are now buying.
In other words we have removed the need to try them out at PL level.

My point is still that unless they leave City we will be very lucky to get a player who is certaIn to reach even PL level.
The academy is developing and may get a new Messi but that is just luck.

Not saying this is incorrect policy simply that our team no longer needs to promote an academy player, it has improved to only have places for the best in each position with reserves to match so let the academy be self sufficient in the future with City benefiting by getting their pick via buy backs and the academy benefiting by selling on Monaco style.
In other words 2 cost centres.

I see; I was reading it a bit more like "we should test kids on principle". I hear you and 100% agree. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing and i hope we get a generation like United were lucky enough to get.

But by extension from what you're saying, we should just play the youth team and say "sink or swim lads".

Would you feel the same if he does it to us in a years time ?
Or one of our stars does it ?
Would you love to stay at a club that cannot be arsed about winning major trophies having spent your better years trying to see that happen to no avail?

The difference is Sanchez has more ambition than Arsenal as a whole. he wants to win the champions league. Arsenal are a selling club and it's as simple as that. Anybody who wants to leave us there's only one place for them and that's downhill, the facts are we're only gonna get better and are heading in the right direction

Daily mal City prepared to give Sanchez £320k a week Mirror also said similar this morning.

Probabaly not a common opinion but quite honestly im not arsed if we sign him or not. Yeh he'd do well but id rather us keep hold of Roberts and start blooding the kids.
I wish we fans could be a little more patient with youth. Take a look at Madrid, now that they are doing well they can blood in top drawer youngsters. There was a time however when they were under immense pressure to deliver and so couldn't afford to do this. The same applies to us. We need to take the pressure off our backs a little and then it'll be easier to get the young ones to shine with us.
