5 goals off getting his best ever season tally for us.

Never underestimate how difficult it is to find a player who puts the ball in the net as much as Aguero does.

These players are hard to find no matter how much money you have, especially ones who are totally loyal to the club and don't cause a fuss.

Needs repeating

Just to sum up my view for Aguero:

Shots per goal:
2015/16: 4.96.
2013/14: 5.06.
2011/12: 5.65.
2014/15: 5.69.
2016/17: 6.75.
2012/13: 7.17.

Shots on Target per goal:

2015/16: 2.17.
2011/12: 2.26.
2014/15: 2.38.
2013/14: 2.53.
2016/17: 2.69.
2012/13: 3.00.

Shots per Appearance:

2014/15: 4.48.
2016/17: 4.32.
2015/16: 3.97.
2011/12: 3.82.
2013/14: 3.74.
2012/13: 2.87.

Shots on Target per goal:

2014/15: 1.88.
2013/14: 1.87.
2015/16: 1.73.
2016/17: 1.72.
2011/12: 1.53.
2012/13: 1.20.

Goals per appearance:

2015/16: 0.80.
2014/15: 0.79.
2013/14: 0.74.
2011/12: 0.68.
2016/17: 0.64.
2012/13: 0.40.

Record in past 2 seasons:

v Arsenal: Shots: 10, On Target: 5, Goals: 2.
v Chelsea: Shots: 23, On Target: 14, Goals: 5.
v Everton: Shots: 10, On Target: 7, Goals: 0.
v Liverpool: Shots: 10, On Target: 4, Goals: 2.
v Tottenham: Shots: 20, On Target: 7, Goals: 0.
v United: Shots 5, On Target: 0, Goals: 0.
Total: Shots: 78, On Target: 37, Goals: 9.

Shots per Goal: 8.67.
Shots on Target per Goal: 4.11.

Hence why I don't think he's close to his best and is underperforming, and it's costing us this season. Based on him at his best, he'd have around 20-22 goals in the league already, and considering he's in a better team there's no reason why he shouldn't be improving on his previous best, not declining considerably. Bar his injury hit 2012/13 campaign the stats show this is his worst league season for us so far. Hope he bags a hattrick today and gets back on track.
Funny you say that he at his best should have had around 20-22 goals, and yet he is on 17 goals with how many games out banned again?

You have two shots on target per goals column's with different stats. I take it one has the wrong heading. Can you edit in the correct heading?

his previous best, which is potentially 5 match-winning goals. He should theoretically be better than his past best of course, seeing as he's playing in a better team under the best manager in the world. Today good goal in the end, but we relied on others to get us the lead. 6 shots, 1 shot on target, 1 goal. It's not brilliant.

Imaging Sanchez in today's lineup. He would have murdered Southampton. But who do you drop? And what about Sterling, Gungodan, when fit, etc.

A shame, but I can see Yaya not being offered a new short contract. The same with Fernando, and Nolito. That would free up spaces for Sanchez.

Would have said the same for Navas, but he looks good at full back. Can tackle, pace, passes, and is starting to put some good crosses in.
