We definitely have a good chance of signing Sanchez, but I think that we'll be forced to pay a staggering amount of money for a player with one year left on his contract. This is the only way that Wenger will be able to sell his departure to the rioting Arsenal fans. In any case, he's worth it. If we can bring in Sanchez and sign the targets that we've been linked with at the fullback positions, then I think that we will certainly be heavy favourites for the league next season.

Don't see his contract situation as an issue personally.

If he costs £50m, is there anybody better on the market for that price right now? Probably not.

Honestly, I think that we'll be forced to spend a little more than £50m. At that price there is every possibility that Wenger refuses to sell and lets him walk the following season. I hope that I'm wrong, but Sanchez is Arsenal's only world class player. How can they possibly replace him? No player of his calibre is going to join a struggling Europa League team.

You can't be serious !

There is no way Arsenal will let him run down his contract. £50m is a huge amount of money.

It's not exactly news, it's the just the same situation repeated again: Sanchez wants City but Wenger wants him to go to Bayern.

It simply comes down to us convincing Arsenal to sell him. I think £50m-£60m would do the trick.

The overlords at arsenal miss out on £50m? Not a fucking chance.

All these top clubs who are full of integrity? I'd sack that off straight away
And the next time we had someone in the last year of their deal, other teams would be getting out players to do it and we would lose out millions

Another step in the right direction IMO. Arsenal are resigned to losing him, but are trying to ship him outside the league first. Further, by delaying City's advances, they hope we'll get itchy and move on to plan B or Sanchez himself will have a change of heart and go elsewhere.

If player and club stay the course, he'll be ours.

To be fair, Cardenas has been saying exactly that for months.

Sanchez wants City, Arsenal/Wenger prefer to sell him to Bayern.

The problem for them is that Bayern, by their own admission, aren't in a position to pay what Sanchez is looking for.
Wenger is trying to appease the Gooners fans, which as we know from past experience with dealing with them,is usually just hot hair.
If Sanchez seriously wants us,he has to push this through.

I think you'll be surprised. Where can Arsenal sign a player with his quality for even double that amount. Arsenal may accept a £50m bid from Bayern, but I have my doubts that they'd accept a £50m bid from us. I can see the fee pushing £60m - £70m. Any less and I see Wenger offering Sanchez an enormous salary (one that he would find difficult to refuse) to extend his contract, along with the promise of spending big in the transfer window to improve the squad.

Arsenal are a club intent on maintaining the books and having a healthy cash flow, even after all the criticism arsehole says he will only bring in 3 players, the first of which is on a free I read this morning, they will take £50 million for Sanchez no drama...!

Madrid just won their league and the champions league. Maybe the competition for places helped then do that. If a few players are unhappy along the way I'm sure they will take that.

Agree with this, to be challenging on all fronts, we need a proper strong squad with quality on the bench.

Nothing will ever be plain sailing and there will be players unhappy along the way, but if we win trophy after trophy I couldn't give a flying one.
