Alexis Sanchez

If city sign Sanchez next month, imagine him scoring the winner in the league cup final if both city and arsenal get there. It would be fucking hilarious, the fam bluds would be fighting each other trying to get to Sanchez while he’s just ran the whole pitch like adebayor.

Reckon Arsenal will do a deal for 10-15 million, as long as they can claim it is higher. That way, we're happy cos we don' overpay and they're happy cos of the positive spin

Maybe Wenger no longer has a say in it, having failed miserably with his plan for Sanchez so far.

But I would imagine the board want to avoid looking completely stupid.

Imo, we should tell them we want the deal doing immediately, if they want to sell, otherwise they will have us hanging on for a month whilst they try to sign a replacement, in order to make them look less stupid, whilst we could be making use of Sanchez straight away, to help with squad fitness during a heavy schedule.

They look stupid already and the world at large knows they screwed up by not selling in the summer; which was entirely predictable. Of course, that does not mean they will see sense now but if having Sanchez there is causing problems in the squad, saving on his wages and £10m is perhaps still financially worth their while. A lot depends on whether Alexis will not countenance going to any other club than City and Arsenal have be made aware of that in no uncertain terms.

Alexis' signing-on fee may well vary depending on the transfer fee and so he may be prepared to sit it out for five months if that is worth millions to him.

I suspect that financially, City's main concern here will be around FFP. Investing an extra £20m (say) in Sanchez now might be recouped if he helped us win the UCL.

My own view is that City need to do this quickly if it is going to get done in January but the chances of another irritating saga are high.

If the transfer would fail again, Sanchez would be even more devastated.
He wants to play CL (and WC..) and would have to be locked up come May without any knives and ropes around.
If Arsenal is too greedy and it fails again, he won't be of any use on the pitch and in the dressing room. Guaranteed.
He will NOT be a factor to win a top 4 spot. Simply forget about that. The season for that proud Chilean would be over.

In financial terms that's 26x130k + loyalty bonus Xm + transfer fee = value to keep a useless player. Just to be stubborn.

On the other hand Arse know that Pep wanted him and still does, that he would be a great adding to our squad and that you simply have to pay for quality.

Arsenals position is weaker by far of course, but the pricing is really difficult to guess.

Maybe Arsenal would only get out of this catastrophe in some positive way if they would be humble and just be grateful to Sanchez for the effort he has made to the club over the years, let him leave, wish him well and take some money at least. But is that possible for a man like Wenger?

One problem with signing Sanchez.... it means we have to sign Evans.
You can only put one player into your CL squad who has played in the Europa league. Sanchez has... but so has inigo Martinez...
