Alexis Sanchez

The club don't normally bid unless they are reasonably confident that a deal can be done. I still think that it's going to require the player to force a move. He hasn't yet put in a transfer request or even made his desire known publicly. Hopefully this bid will initiate project Alexit.

Ok, maybe a bit steep. £24m tops -- that's fucking £2m a month to buy out his contract with Arse. Insane.
And Mbappe? 2 years left on his deal thats £8m per month of his contract. If we sign Sanchez, then we weaken a rival and pretty much bag the league title.
If he stays there is no guarentee we'll get him next summer for free, not to mention he'll be getting very hefty sign on fee offers when his contract expires (much higher than he can demand with a fee being paid).

Think the timing is good if we've made a bid. We still have to get through the first rejected bid, Sanchez handing in a transfer request, the second rejected bid, Wenger saying that he's 'making a stand', Arsenal signing a relatively unknown 'next big thing' as a replacement, then acceptance of the third and final bid because the money was "crazy" and a prudent business couldn't turn it down, unlike crazy City who are ruining football. Tedious.
I don't think Arsenal need to buy a replacement, they have a huge squad already with more deadwood than us, I think wenger will just go with what he had and the Arsenal board will pocket the money....

Yep. Coutinho situation turned sour when he thrown his toys out. Liverpool had the no sale under any circumstance, now they are willing to accept the right amount (or so it seems)

Don't care what anyone says, City would be incredibly stupid to pay anything above £30m. If we do end up paying anything like the figures quoted, then we deserve all the criticism coming our way.
Have you been living under a rock this window???
Paulinho has just gone for £40m
Real Madrid spent the same on a kid with 1 senior appearance
Lukaku cost United £90m
Neymar cost PSG £200m
Mbappé likely to cost just as much
£90m bids being rejected for Coutinho and Dembélé
Walker and Mendy cost £50m a piece
Sigurdsson will cost £50m

Jesus Christ even Michael Keane cost £30m, and you think we'd be stupid to spend more than that on arguably the best player in the league?? (certainly the best player in the league who is also on the market)

And I also think it would be ridiculous to pay nigh on £200m for an eighteen year old kid, in the hope that he fulfills his potential!! And unlike you, not sure I see Arse as a rival for the title or that Sanchez would guarantee us the title. Bit like the rags saying Lukaku is going to guarantee them the title.

yep, an absolute bona fide star is not worth anything like £30m. In fact, I say let's forget this guy is a proven winner wherever he goes, let's offer ten bob and tell them that we don't like "criticism".

YaYa - take a bow. Truly, you have saved us a fortune.

Not really. We are already title favourites, United are further off. United had to replace goals they lost with Ibra, we'd be adding them. Add to that Arsenal (with Sanchez particularly) are much more of a title threat than Everton.
