Definitely seems to lay the groundwork for an out and far softer than the firm no from last month. Says board are behind him, but if the board said "We're with you Arsene, we won't sell no matter what." then he wouldn't have started the quote by saying if the board wants to sell ill have to accept that. He would just say no,not happening (like S'Ton did with VVD today). Sounds like they prepped him that if theyget a big enough offer they'll sell.

It certainly represents a slight change of direction from him, as he wouldn't even entertain the notion previously. Not convinced it means that it's definitely on, mind you.

I think that's always been the case, tbh. Remains to be seen if he's willing to do it though.

So no Sanchez and no Mbappe. Bit of a disappointing end to the window if we only have Jonny Evans added to the squad before the end of the August.

I'm probably just way too optimistic on this mate. There's no way he'll hand in a transfer request as Pep doesn't like his players causing a fuss, but if we raise our bid maybe Alexis would reaffirm that he'd like to join if Arsenal would be willing to cash in?
