Alexis Sanchez

Wenger’s pre-match interview on SSN then seemed telling. He was asked why Sanchez was on the bench, and he said with a smile, “Well, you cannot explain every single decision. That is the decision of the day”. Then again, wouldn’t expect him to be so chirpy if he knew Sanchez was off?

If that's the case why hasn't he thrown in a transfer request?
This should have been signed, sealed and delivered when it turned January 1st, all this posturing and pissing about is doing my fruit in
We only want him now because Jesus is injured. If he didn't get injured we'd be balls deep for defenders.

Not seen it.

Is that what he has just said?

When specifically asked why Sanchez was on the bench he actually said:

"You know you cannot explain every single decision and that was the decision of the day"

When asked if he could still come off the bench he said yes he could and he was focussed!

He also said Ozil had a slight injury to his knee.

Well its his and the boards fault for letting Sanchez run down his contract

He has a face that would instantly fit in the dressing room no doubt about it.

To be fair he should be a world class attacking midfielder as he has the advantage of seeing play developing on both wings at the same time.

I think he was chirpy/smirky just because of how obvious it was. His way of saying 'why the **** do you think?'

No other reason to leave him out.

True but perhaps it was a wry smile of resignation and one where he was happy as he believes he has screwed as much money out of us as possible.

But it does look like we have landed their best player. A truly world class player to add to our team. Why else would you rest such an important player in the only completion you realistically have a chance of winning. ?

Unless he is off elsewhere!

We left Aguero on the bench and it meant nothing. If there was any deal close Arsenal would not waste a sub they dont plan to play.

He will get time.

Hope he is imminent but don't see how this means he is for sure.

Understanding Wegner is like translating Klingon at the best of times.

Especially when other than “Cup keeper” it is most definitely their strongest available 11 that are starting - would he really leave out Sanchez for Wellshite and Iwobi, lmao.

They aren’t risking him getting injured ahead of a likely medical with Us.
At this point it seems that the transfer depends more on Arsenal looking for a replacement for Alexis.

Neither Iwobi or Welbeck are very good so it stands to reason that in this huge game he'd prefer to play Sanchez if he could.
