Alexis Sanchez

Whether it's the RagDipperArseHaringeyMeedya in full flow or what, but the DT this morning are suggesting that Aguero is key to the Sanchez move. I've not read the whole article but the word 'swap' springs to mind. No matter how good Sanchez might be, I wouldn't swap him for Sergio.

I'd follow Pep to the end of the Rochdale Canal but I draw a line under shipping out Aguero!

We don't have to swop anyone. Due to their own incompetence arsenal havn't got a single bargaining chip left. They take what we/other club offer or they add more angst to their position and they get zilch in July.

This transfer if it happens in January may only be because of injury to Kun or Jesus or a sudden loss of firepower and points in the league. If the winning streak continues into the New Year he may appear surplus to requirements or worse still as some have suggested he may be viewed as likely to disrupt the balance of the side and undermine morale.
Who has suggested he may upset the balance of the squad? The players he will provide competition & cover for are David Silva, Bernardo Silva, KDB, Gundogan, Sterling or Sane. That 6 players who cover 4 positions in a possible 60 game season. I'd like someone to explain to me how Sanchez would actually upset our balance.

In terms of a loss of firepower, I'm struggling to recall how many times Aguero & Jesus have each scored from open play in the last 2 months.

I'm wondering whether or not Pep has got into MarkHughes/RSC mode with this pursuit of Sanchez. Common sense would tell anyone to wait until the end of the season, but I think Pep thinks that the Chilean is a necessary piece in this season's jigsaw. And to get him in January won't be a case of offering a few balti pies and a couple of pints! Wenger is French, don't forget, and even he is a peculiar kind of Frenchman - an Alsatian! They don't know whether they're French or German, but Wenger would sooner cut of his dick than lose face with Sanchez moving! He moves at the end of the season, and Wenger points to the lucrative contract that was on the table, and that he had done everything in his power to keep him.

Not really accurate. Consultant Surgeons have a time contract for NHS work rather than a number of operations.
Outside that time they may do private work, though many do not.
Albeit this has nothing to do with this thread, I'm yet to meet s consultant who doesn't work outside of the NHS.

Yes if we're being specific about time/number of ops, this is quite fluid because obviously some operations take longer than others.

A surgeon won't pack up his kit half way through an operation because his time quota is full, or refuse to carry out further operations because the number of ops he has to cover has been completed. It's not as straight forward as that.

Anyway, back to the footy! :-)

We are playing fantastic football and are 11 points clear. 30m for a player we can have for free in a few months is crazy, even in the modern market.
I'm sure your view would change if something were to happen to either Sterling or Sane. We need reinforcements now to see us through to the summer.

If we didn't City wouldn't have gone for Sanchez in the summer. It's not like we secured alternative targets either.

Ric we need some poles on this forum, like do you believe we will sign Sanchez in Jan. for what its worth yes i think we will.
Do Polish people have a more valid opinion on transfer business than the rest of us? FWIW we have a fair few already.

Totally agree mate. imo, buying him in January for say £30m would be as daft as Arsenal not selling him for £60m 4 months ago. Dafter, in fact.

OK, so Aguero and Jesus are not exactly rattling them in right at this moment, but that will change: they are both super high quality and will hit purple patches again very soon. Sanchez would improve us of course, but do we *need* him? No. Getting him on a free is a no brainer. Paying (say) £30m when we could have him on a free later is just potty.
