Just think if that had been the case he would have been sold in the summer.
Difference is, in the summer they thought selling him would be them losing their best player who would single handedly win them a bunch of points, now they have seen what he's been like this year and are probably more alright with letting him go.

Personally think the transfer in January would do more harm than good tbh, for all the talk of how much it would help us, I think he'd disrupt a happy camp. Can't help but feel the very public courtship is one of the bigger factors in Aguero having a bit of a sulk on. Don't really see the players responding well to being dropped when we've been winning every game, for a guy who hasn't played as well as any of them. I don't really buy into the belief that his poor form is just because he's unhappy and that he could just turn it on like a switch if he moved here.

If we were hell bent on getting him, in the summer on a free would make much more sense to me. Really wouldn't want to upset the apple cart whenever everything is going so well, don't really see the benefit to it

But getting into the CL negates any loss, and keeping Sanchez for another window was a calculated risk, if they did somehow hit top form and stayed there until Xmas, With a chance of the title, Sanchez may have stayed on another year, he'd already verbally agreed to stay on prior to the 10-2 agg drubbing by BM, but changed his mind after that

Can't see how arsenal are in any kind of position to say to us or psg for that matter, £25m-£35m and he's yours, knowing full well both clubs can say leave it till summer and get him for free, in my opinion, the only way both clubs needs Sanchez asap is for champion league exploits, both would win their own leagues without Sanchez, personally think he will stay at arsenal till end of season, then pep gets his man

My mate made a good point when he said January will determine whether Alexis desire is greater to join us, or to simply get away from Arsenal. I forsee some poker faces on this transfer.

Looking at it from the Gooners point of view. Arsen wont want to lose face and I think they will turn down all offers in Jan.
I honestly don’t think Arsène will lose face. The more Alexis plays there’s an increasing number of gooners fans want him gone. If anything Arsène can say he did everything but Alexis just isn’t being professional and the Arsenal lot will lap it up

Think back to the summer. If they knew then what they know now, they'd have took the £65m on offer.

For Arsenal, keeping Sanchez to ensure CL football next season was a reasonable risk to take. It looks like Arsenal are in a proper battle for a top 4 finish anyway, so in hindsight, they may as well have done the deal in the summer.

To a lesser extent the situation has come around again, so they have the option of taking the same risks again. They can accept whatever they can get for him now, & put it toward his replacement now or in the summer. Or keep Sanchez until the summer with no guarantee that the risk will work & allow him to leave for free.

If it was me & it was obvious there was no chance of him re-signing, I'd have sold him last summer to the highest bidder & put my efforts into those players who wanted to fight for the club & finding his replacement.

Dont think the situation has come round again. That choice may be gone now , if we dont want him until the summer and he wants us, he'll just sit tight and walk away. They missed their only chance of money for a replacement in the summer.

I've asked this question before. Why would Sanchez coming in January upset the apple cart & a happy camp?

Are you seriously saying that Aguero's mood is down to speculation surrounding Sanchez?

There was a metric released in the last few weeks which showed that Sanchez has statistically been Arsenal's best player this season so far, even though he's not reached the heights of last season. Are you saying it's over for Sanchez in top flight football?

If so, have you any supporting evidence, or is this just your opinion?

Our priorities are shifting all the time. We had Mendy, then we didn't. Delph has stepped in with aplomb & we still have Danilo, & Zinchenko, so replacing Mendy may not be the priority it was.

We had Stones, Otamendi, Mangala, Tosin & Kompany. Kompany's fitness can't be relied on, Stones is injured, Tosin not ready & Mangala is just sufficient. CB is a position we need to look at imo because beyond Otamendi & Stones, we can't sit very comfortably.

Central Midfield is sorted, but we have no one capable of replacing Fernandinho to his standards. This position needs attention.

We have Sterling & Sane. Both are unique because of their pace out wide & ability to move inside. Outside of them, we lack like for like replacements. This is an area which needs attention.

We are fine in the striking department & even though both Aguero & Jesus have been quiet over the last few weeks, Aguero returned to form in his last game & we have goals coming from other areas of the pitch. I think we are fine in this department as it stands.

In terms of Sanchez, he brings further depth to our squad, out wide & centrally. Pep knows him & he knows Pep. I trust in Pep's judgement, so if he wants Sanchez now, in the summer or not at all, I'll go with what he believes we need.

However, we're an injury away from the landscape at CB, LB, CDM, LW, RW & CF changing again. This is why we need reinforcements.

Following on from Pogba wishing injuries on us, did you notice Moureen's sly dig about the winter injury period shortly after talking about us having the advantage of an extra day off?

This is what they're all hoping for & why Pep is doing everything he can do to avoid this happening.

I think it's pretty obvious that Aguero's mood is because he wants to be the main man and playing as much as possible, so it's also pretty obvious that us chasing a player that is going to significantly into that game time won't be going down well with him. I doubt he'd be alone in being unhappy with Sanchez coming and taking some of their game time either.

As for football metrics, I couldn't give a shit, they are incredibly unreliable and prove nothing. Ask any Arsenal fan or anyone who has watched them a lot and they'll tell you that Sanchez has been poor this year. As for him being finished in top flight football, no idea where you even inferred that from. I said you can't simply turn form on like a switch, but that's not specific to Sanchez, that's just how confidence and form work.
