Alexis Sanchez

We changed the way we played to accommodate Marsh.

Sanchez will play to Pep’s tune, not the other way around.

I'm really worried that we buy him and end up finishing second.
In all seriousness, I don’t think his signing will disrupt us to the tune of dropping 15 points (and losing those games by 5 goals each) in the second half of the season.

As @cadds92 points out above, Sanchez is a very good fit to our system and imagine will be more of a happy clapper than anyone in the squad.

My only worry is whether or not it will impact the development/morale of Sane, Foden, and/or Diaz, which is a long term concern.

Rock the boat, was what I think he was getting at.
Bringing such a big name when all is going well could unbalance the team and that's the last thing that we need.
I just cannot see Pep letting that happen.
I don't get why people have this view. Do you have any basis whatsoever to substantiate this?

The first player we have who feels upset because another potential star player has arrived needs to be fucked off imo

Like I've said previously, how far are we going to go to maintain 'squad unity' & not 'upset the boat' or 'unbalance the team'? Stick to a squad of 11 with the rest being academy products, so we don't upset some players or make them feel their place is under threat?

When it was mooted that Sanchez was a distinct possibility, what was the reaction of the 2 players most at threat? Both Sterling & Sane immediately put their hammers down to up their game & the rest is becoming history.

THIS is the reaction I expect from our squad & not players spitting their dummies out & throwing their rattles out of the pram because if they don't perform, there's someone equally as good or even better waiting in the wings to step in.

Mad not to want him here but when the likes of jesus, gundogan and bernardo are on the bench reguarly I have no idea how pep will manage the squad.
Easily. Pick the team, give them their instructions & tell the to crack the fuck on. Simples!

Pep's been doing it at Barca, Bayern & now City for the last 10 years, so why would you worry about Pep being unable to handle his job?

Exactly.

And you know many came to us because they were sold the project of turning City into a club at the same echelon as Barca, Real, and Bayern. They wouldn’t have any different experience (if not even more competitive) at those clubs so if their aspirations really are to be some of the best footballers in the world, playing beautiful football, and winning all there is to be won than this needs to be their mindset full stop.

He has played for Pep before I don't see the problem. He knows what Pep wants and Pep knows what he can provide. Welcome to Manchester :)

The media are drip feeding he has temper tantrums in the dressing room. Next they'll say he's a mercenary. Blanche from corrie will then drop some obtuse reference about him in a press conference. To me this will confirm he's signing on a free.

Exactly.

Exactly!

By all accounts, the lack of squad quality is the reason the world class Sanchez wants to move to a club who match his playing quality & footballing ambitions.

I am genuinely surprised that the Rodney Marsh experience gets brought up as a reason for not signing Sanchez.

Totally different times, manager, players , mentality etc , so cannot see why the situation would repeat itself.

Sanchez provides so many different options available to the set up that I can only see his signing as a plus factor. My opinion only though.

If you are sane, worked hard to get into a position where your name is first on the team sheet, then along comes this new guy and he is getting your place cos the manager says you need a rest. If not sane then aguero or sterling. If your answer to that is they should just do as they are told and be team players it doesn't stop them being fucked off with things and maybe not giving the 110% they are now.

Balancing the characters in the squad is as important as balancing the skills to some managers, and tbh our squad are performing at their best ever... why risk upsetting that balance midway through the season.
If our players cannot handle having competition/cover in their squad, then they are selfish bastards in it for themselves & not for MCFC & as such, they should be fucked off for having such a weak mental fortitude.
