£20m-£25m in January is better than nothing, plus we would likely end up paying Sanchez in and around £15m in a signing on bonus in the summer I reckon regardless, maybe more.

On the other hand how will they manage to replace both in the middle of the season?

Taking £40m for Ozil and Sanchez is not much. They will have to spend that and more on one replacement that may or may not settle in January.

At least now they have a chance for top 4, sell these two and you can guarantee they won’t make it which will make it more difficult to attract players in the summer. If they were going to sell it should of been in the summer.

Either way they are in a terrible position but selling Ozil and Alexis in Janaury will be much worse for them long term. It would be a drastic change to sell 2 players in the middle of the season that have been starting practically every game.
 
I think they will sell Sanchez and put Ozil on a huge new contract! Sanchez has made it more than clear he wants out but Ozil I think would stay if they offered him mega money
 
Could see Arsenal selling Sanchez then getting the fans back on side by Ozil signing a new (Mega) deal - Saying they used the funds for that - then not buying someone to replace Sanchez..

Typical Arsenal thing to do :D

Only one will go.

If I recall, Rafa Honigstein has said recently that if Arsenal offer Özil the contract he wants he will stay.

I just think with the rumblings of discontent between Sanchez and his teammates something will give in January.

I also think whilst Wenger may think that despite keeping a disheartened player in Sanchez until the end of the season may be better for his team, the business people behind the scenes are going to want some money from one of these players.

Considering we budgeted around £60m for him in the summer I think the club may be able to justify buying Sanchez for up to £30m-£40m in January if it means we challenge for the Champions League as well as win the league.

If you give me the choice of £30m for Evans or £30m for Sanchez (and sticking with Mangala), I'm taking Sanchez regardless of how long is left on his contract.

Hope you are right mate. It could happen. I just think Arsenal will be stubborn and wait until the end of the window and ask for a lot and we say no we’ll wait until the summer.

He is just what we need. With him in January we have a bigger chance for the quadruple. Would love for it to happen. The media are painting him as a trouble maker which usually means he is joining. Maybe he is finding form to convince us to pay the fee in January ?

I am pretty sure after that bit of a debacle on deadline day when the rumours were he was signed up ready to go pending Arsenal sign Lemar, only for that to fall through, I think that must have done him in a bit.

I am pretty sure Pep and Txiki would have spoke to him and said hold on tight we will be back in January.
 
If both Aguero and Jesus were both rampant in front of goal i would discount the urgency to purchase Sanchez in january. in doing so getting a real kick of Arsenal losing a fee for him this summer However watching Aguero this season has frustrated not for any other reason than we are so used to him being so clinical in front of goal, Jesus has been just as guilty with some misses that have thanks to RDB RS etc not as costly
