#Arsenal, privately, expect him to go in January"@JohnCrossMirror says the club are preparing to sell Sanchez and the gamble on him being a positive influence this season has backfired.
Wow that's some throwing under the bus from that cockney gobshite cross.
You'd think he was in charge of their transfers the way he goes on with himself.

Wenger has all summer to sign a replacement for Sanchez as he has a year on his deal left and will not re-sign. Wenger decides to wait until deadline day to make a huge bid for Thomas Lemar (didn't want to decide his future in a matter of hours, imagine that).

Wenger rejects a £60m+ bid from City for Sanchez who can walk for free at the end of the season. Wenger rejects it because they didn't get the replacement in that they spent all of a few hours trying to sign.

The January window opens and Wenger says Sanchez can be sold if they receive a bid of £35m, despite the only amount of bargaining power Arsenal owning being that he has to wait the next four and a half months to join if we don't submit an acceptable bid now. Wenger then continues to play Sanchez risking injury to the player knowing City have made/are making a £20m 'take it or leave it' offer.

All of this on top of the statement that Wenger made earlier this season saying Arsenal are in a good position running down all these players' contracts.

Everything I just typed is information that we're all aware of; it's just truly baffling and a testament to his stubbornness and archaic mindset that is turning Arsenal into a laughing stock. I genuinely think he wants the club to be in a shite position when he leaves so he can say 'See, not so easy?' when the next bloke fails.

Looked like a bit of a farewell wave to the gooners from Sanchez at full time

As for being past his best... it’s less than a year since he was tearing up the league. He ended up being stuck at a club he didn’t want to be, playing for a has-been manager with players he clearly doesn’t respect in a team going nowhere

Even a 5% drop in effort and attitude would stand out at this level. He’ll be back to his best the minute he arrives at our club

He has had to carry Chile and Arsenal on his own for the most part. He was never going to be able to sustain that, and desire to leave means he is more frustrated this season and has dropped off from his previous level. If he comes to City he can do what he is good at, running in behind, hounding the opposition, dropping deep and turning to create chances.

He does not have to do all the other things he does at Arsenal because we have the players to allow him to do his work in the final 3rd.
