Alexis Sanchez

Pundits appear increasingly today to be backing off from the Sanchez to United line. They appear to be pushing the idea that it is the cost of taking him to the Etihad which is the problem. I don't have a problem accepting that Arsenal are holding out, at this stage, for as much as they think they can get. It seems, though, that the papers see Sanchez's demands as a real problem, and this I find hard to understand. Sanchez signed a contract on the last day of the summer window which meant he would actually earn less than he did at the Emirates. This was because he wanted to work with Pep so much. Is he now demanding so much more? Is he no longer so keen on working with Pep? Or have his views not changed at all and he still wants to come to City as much as ever? Are Arsenal still the only obstacle to a deal?
It's all just posturing mate. Arsenal want to make Sanchez/agent look like the greedy bastards

You see, this is where I am at odds with seemingly so many of my fellow blues.

We have won nothing yet and I still don't consider us home and hosed in the Premier League, much as the national consensus seems to think so.

The margins have been far tighter in the last couple months and could have gone the other way in the blink of an eye.

Sanchez gives us maximum insurance against further injury, a lack of cutting edge, further impacting the psyche of our rivals, both domestically and abroad.

I don't want the Moral Stance Cup, I want the real stuff and Sanchez coming this month could guarantee the difference.

Put it this way, Sanchez in United's team would certainly get them closer to us before the season ends.

Absolutely this. Surely 30 million would be acceptable to Arsenal.

I can't pretend I don't care if this gets done. Sanchez is a world-class player who will probably secure us the league title and improve our chances in the FA Cup and Champions League. He's an additional goalscorer to the four we already have which is incredibly valuable, and he gives us attacking depth that we don't have enough of currently.

Definitely.

And if he decides to go there, City will not lose any sleep, because it automatically proves it would have been a mistake to sign him. City will be expecting a player who is desperately keen, to be a part of what the club is doing, not someone who just sees it as an option. We don't want a 29 year old who comes because it's an 'ok' thing to do & 'ok' money, we want a player who wants to rip up fucking europe with a blue shirt on.

This is spot on.

I love this “team” right now - it’s not just a “collection of players”. His decision will speak volumes about what really drives him.

They all seem to be very loyal to their agents, even when they disagree with them 100% & do something else.
Yeah, it's strange in this case though, Sanchez must have a good idea of what we'd offer and both Soriano and his counterpart at Arsenal are capable of picking up a phone (presume that jobs been taken off Wenger at this stage).
