One of the best forwards in the PL, considered by many to be "world class" only worth £20m in today's market.
We were bidding more than that for JFE!

The whole footballing world knows it was significantly below his market value. After he rejected Bayern and PSG in the summer, we thought he would only come to us.

He wanted us and we wanted him but we tried to be too cute with fees and we appear to have let him go to our local rivals.
If he still wants us, the fee is irrelevant as he will be happy with his personal terms. It is his choice

Being commercially astute is key at every level of the club if we want to dominate. This negotiation may be an indication that we won't be throwing money at the problem moving forward and we want people to join the club for the right reasons.

If he was that nailed on to be going to the rags. He certainly wouldnt be 1/2 at the bookies. Nobody knows at this stage what his decision will be.

The idea of us 'punishing' Arsenal, has come about on places like this.

If we were prepared to leave him at Arsenal, it's because Pep is no longer really that bothered about signing him.

Utd would have bid, in this window & Sanchez' agent would have spoken to them, you do not 'blank' Utd, much as it is made a joke of, on here.

If Sanchez wants to come to City, he can do. It is upto him.
We believed he would only come to us, we tried to punish Arsenal by hitting them in the pocket.
United would not have bid unless they had been encouraged. No club wants to be rejected.
Until we played hardball with Arsenal, Sanchez's camp thought we would stump up for him.

Some perspective people. Sanchez is a great player but his best years are probably behind him. While he’d be a real asset he also has the potential to upset the squad. He’s clearly a divisive figure and has fallen out with most of the players at Arsenal. No one would be freaking out if he joined Dortmund or atleti. It’s only because it’s united.

I trust in our club and pep to be thinking about the bigger picture. United have just spent another chunk of money and Big wages on a 29 year old. Next season we need to make sure he doesn’t become their RVP. We just need to spend on the right players in the summer and on players that will benefit our long term goals not short term ones!

The reason why he's fallen out with most players at Arsenal is because they are shit and he wants to win things. That trait is extremely beneficial in the right environment and I think that is exactly what United need.

Also, of course the reaction is going to be much worse because he's signing for United and not some European club. United are our biggest rivals both on and off the pitch and players like Sanchez will only make them stronger.

As a City fan I don't like to see anything that makes United stronger. In fact the only time I'd ever want them to win a match is if it directly benefits us, otherwise I want them to lose. Missing out on a player we want to them is essentially them getting one over on us and no City fan should ever be happy with that.

Indeed.

One equally plausible possibility could be that we don't actually want him anymore, but were committed to signing him, because we promised in summer, so we are actually delighted to 'lose' him.

But that wouldn't put City in a bad light, so probably isn't worth mentioning when everyone is looking for different ways to sulk.

Read this a few times now. We promised him? Everyone is saying what great business this is losing him, what terrible business it would have been if we got him (at the terms we wanted) as there was no interest elsewhere all because of a "promise" fucking weird on here.
