Oh come on, you've bought quite a few proven players. KDB, Gundogan etc.
gundogan proven yes, is he a star? KDB had a breakout season, he certainly wasn't a proven star like Sanchez

That's fair enough fella but surely there is also mention of CL football in it somewhere.Players should respect the contract they signed.
Why would there be. If there was a CL release clause then so be it, there would be no argument, but there obviously wasn't, so CL football doesn't really come into the equation,That's fair enough fella but surely there is also mention of CL football in it somewhere.

If that's the case, why did you bring up the erroneous issue of us not winning "anything" in the past 3 years? Simple question. And sarcasm doesn't do you any favours either.I was shockingly wrong, to forget about the league cup you won...
But that wasnt the point I was making!
Agreed but players are human beings who might want to move club at some point in what is a short career. As long as he doesn't go on strike or anything then he is respecting his contract IMO. But if Sanchez puts in a transfer request then at what point should Arsenal respect the man and his wishes?Players should respect the contract they signed.
In their defence, those signings were soon after the takeover. The owners inherited a club that would have gone nowhere without some heavy initial investment, and what message would it send to the fans if the worlds richest football club owners don't open their wallets to build the team.Aguero was world class at Atletico Madrid.
Yaya Toure world class at Barca

Anyway, CL football is a convenient excuse, this was coming regardless.

I suspect gooner 2 is back with his 10th user name lolI like these Gooners on here!
When we do though, we ruin them. Ozil was considered world class at RM. he's been very underwhelming at Arsenal. There is nothing wrong with signing world class players, I wish we did it sometimes.

Kun was definitely a star. All the hype Jesus, Sane and Sterling have now Kun had at 16 in Argentina. He was big long before he came to city.outside the time frame of my question, but fine. Yaya yes, Kun was proven in La Liga but a star? debatable
It would have been interesting just to see how he would have done for City in a Silva type role. That's because you surrounded him with shite
