The point I was making was not to do with value but more to do with how poorly we had managed the situation. To be fair it is different with Willy as nobody expected he would become first choice.
We still put ourselves in a poor position to get the best possible deals due to the fact that everyone knew we had to replace them, i will admit that i am very happy with the full backs we have signed though.

I think the difference is that we knew we were replacing them. You put Zabba and Clichy in the same age bracket as arenal's then we wouldnt let it happen...not a chance

I don't see how that's the same thing seeing as all of those players were surplus to requirements, over 30 years old and no longer first choice, whereas Sanchez, Ozil and Oxlade-Chamberlain are important players in their prime and worth about £60m, £50m and £40m respectively.
 
I presume we will be above the 2000 mark by the time this finally goes tits up and we all realize we have all been deluded OR finally we have him, and in true City style he goes on a goal drought and were still waiting in January to open his account. Either way i will be delighted for September 1st to make this a gooner free zone
 
I know i am off topic please forgive me, but just perusing the thread with the Seville v Espanyol match on in the background Nollito running the show and just scored from a corner and the co-commentator is pleading to get the ball to Navas as he is causing havoc WTF happens when they come to us

They play against much better opposition here than in Spain except for Real, Barca & Atletico. I think even mid-table Premiership sides would finish 4th in the Spanish league.

And probably 3rd in the Italian and German and French leagues too. And any of our top 4 would probably be champions in those three leagues.
