I'm in a bit of a quandary here!
We need an experienced forward to take some of the weight off Kun and help the development of our undoubted young talent in Jesus, Sane, Sterling et al.
However, if there is the possibility of getting Mbappe, then we have to try.
I am not sure we have the resources to sign both and sort out our more needy positions.
Perhaps, we should go for an experienced Pl player as backup to Kun. Someone like Defoe would have fitted the bill.

If he wanted us particularly he'd have put in a transfer request. This is all about money. If Arsenal up their wage offer I'm sure he'll sign for them. We've seen players use city for this purpose before.

The longer it goes on the less I think we'll get him.
No, I would imagine he would prefer not to do that, and will probably be hoping arsenal accept a bid from us, with a transfer request being a possible later tactic

Who posts 230+ times a year for 7 years just to wind people up for a few days????? That's incredible. @BillyShears semi-vouched for him too. Bizarre situation. Surely some mods can chime in as there had to have been some sort of private convo?

The whole point is that virtually everything after our interest is shown in a certain player has got to be conjecture.

The chief negotiator is unlikely to know when a difficult set of meetings are likely to end never mind an ITK who relies on inside info-.
Nothing is certain during negotiations until agreement is reached then the whole lot is passed over to legal people to finalise so all that anyone can know is a feeling of progress during those negotiations and to put a projection into those meetings is surely foolhardy.

For what it is worth I think all he was confirming in good faith was his contacts feelings who may or may not have been genuine. There again maybe he was just having a laugh and hoping he got somewhere near.
