My big fear with Roberts(and I'm a fan) is that he's looked great under Rodgers. If there's one thing Rodgers is famous for, it's making wide players look amazing in his system. Scott Sinclair consistently looks good in his set ups. Raheem looked far, far better in it than he did under Pellers. There were others at Swansea too. So with that evidence in mind I'm fearful he's looking better in a system than he truly is right now. But the quality is definitely there.

My biggest fear is when I've seen him do special things for Celtic, inevitably the defending has been atrocious, Sunday league level stuff. The leap from that to dealing with low blocked PL defenders is literally enormous and not just one league up but several leagues up.

Rogers is a good coach but Pep is better. If we do keep Roberts it'll be because Pep's seen in him something he thinks is worth working with.

What isn't being discussed here is does Roberts want to return? Given news of the bid from Celtic, id hardly think they would go to that trouble unless they had been given assurances from the player he wanted the move.

Im happy for us to reject the bid and for Pep to take a look at the lad but any thoughts of him coming in and playing a regular role in the side next season are pie in the sky as far as i'm concerned and i will hazard a guess, Roberts knows it as well.

Just imagine

.................Gk
FB..........CB...........CB..............FB
.................Toure
............Silva.........KDB
Sanchez.........................Jesus
.................Augero

Bloody hell imagine the goals there... AND we have Sterling and Sane to rotate in!

Sane will be one of the top 5 attackers in the league next year, Sanchez shouldn't be being brought in to stunt that development, it would be suicide, regardless of rotation..

Now if he's being brought in to play in the hole, which is my own thinking, then happy days, a rotation of silva,KDB and Sanchez is much more feasible..

The 3 at the back formation will be explored more next year to give us that extra body in the box, we lack..

Playing the FM game, I'd say it will be something like

................GK..................

.....JS/NO.....vin......CB......

RWB.........Gun/CM..........LWB..

GJ/RS......KDB/AS/DS.......LS/GJ

................KA/AS/GJ/............

Obviously playful but a few additions at the high end and our variations are insane,

How I see it, the way people discount the gulf in class between the leagues is astounding, the kid himself is also displaying everything I don't want to see, acceptance of that quality and lack of desire to play at the very top. For me we block this, send him to a prem team and see how he holds out, we can do without dropping a bollock, just on the off chance he can cut it at a higher level...

Saw that the Chilean Football Federation announced their squad and listed Sanchez as a Bayern Munich player. Was quickly taken down and corrected. Hopefully a prank / mistake!

Just read this article from this morning. I can't translate it all on mobile, but the crux is: Bayern are interested, but they can't afford him. Both Arsenal's asking fee and the wages Sanchez is seeking are too high. They believe they could get Arsenal down in price, but cannot risk having to enter a period of wage restructuring with the rest of the squad to take on board Sanchez.

Take this with a grain of salt. IMO BILD aren't terribly reliable, but it at least makes sense.

Personally I think he needs to play at a slightly lower level to ours to prove himself. In an ideal world we'd send him to somewhere like Girona now they're a La Liga side to get first team experience in a more competitive league than Scotland. Failing that I'd be looking to sides like Southampton/Everton if they were interested in a loan.

The Scotland experience has been good and he's obviously got talent, but it's not enough IMO to bring him back to our first team.
I can only name 4 players that have made the transition from Celtic to the Premier League in recent seasons. Wanyama and VVD, Jason and (maybe) Roberts. All of them were absolute standouts for Celtic. The first two adapted immediately and are now amongst the most highly regarded players in England, both of them would get into the current City first team and we would pay huge sums for them. Why have we got this mindset that the other two haven't proven themselves sufficiently? We loaned Jason to bloody Sunderland with that basket case Moyes to develop his career. God only knows what damage that will have done. Both players deserve at least a chance.

If Denayer were that coveted he'd have had better options than Sunderland. VVD and Wanayama have both done excellent and are quality players. But both had to go via Southampton to get big moves because nobody with title aspirations is taking a big risk on a player who's only done it in Scotland.

We have to get out of the mindset that we should favour unproven kids because they came through our academy. It's nonsense. Pep was also pretty clear in the last 7 days. Next season some of the under 18's will come and train with the first team but in terms of one of them stepping into the first team it's too early.

Look at the general negativity around the club this season because we finished third. Many supporters seem to think it's been a terrible, awful disgraceful, season. Things like that signpost that there's fuck all chance that we're going into next season taking a punt on unproven youngsters.

You act like its black and white. It isn't. We can integrate talented youngsters whilst having a squad that can challenge. We took a risk on Sane and he has done ok. Jason is done at the club I think but imo his career has been mismanaged by us. I hope that Roberts doesnt go the same way.

A German International tearing the Bundasliga up against a lad Playing in Scotland for a side so dominant its ridiculous and against sides so poor is not a comparison.

Billy is right in that a loan to a PL club is probably best right now so that we can judge him far better.

Bild are very reliable for Bayern news usually - or at least they usually have the bayern line.

My issue with this article is that it says Arsenal have offered Sanchez €20m salary - £330k/week - and that's just obviously bollocks.

City players reckon its a done deal according to the MEN. I find that difficult to believe, dont think Arsenal would allow a sale to City to go through so quickly.

There will be friendships between Arsenal and City players - Spanish internationals, and Clichy played there so wouldnt be suprised if Sanchez has confided and some of the players have picked it up and discussed it.
