Have some more wine, you deserve it. Oh and what's that other thing ...

I've been told that a load of digital work has been done for Walker. Which pretty much means he's in the bag. Saying that, we did all the digital work for Falcao, and we all know how that ended!!

The only other piece I was taking about was Silva. Monaco had an agreement with United, until Pep personally called Monaco and asked to speak to the player himself. The real way to do things, I hate the way we are being looked at for tapping up kids.... we should just get pep to speak to them!

What's the justification of him being our top earner? On a par certainly but not top.

The justification? 30 goals and 20 assists, with a £270k/week offer on the table from Arsenal to stay and interest from Bayern.

Hard to imagine someone being in a better negotiating position for a contract.

We don't pay that kind of basic anymore,if he wants to come to us to win trophies he will fit in with our other top earners

Haha. That makes it even sweeter.

Ineresting stuff that mate, didn't know Silva was so close to joining the rags. Great having Pep in our corner.

I didn't say that's what we'd pay him, but Arsenal are basically offering him an extra £70k/week to sacrifice his ambitions.

Neither us nor Bayern will pay that much, but he'll go in at the top of either pay structure and get to win trophies too.

So if he stays and runs his contract down, do you think he will have sufficient motivation to help then achieve something they failed to last season?

Yes of course. He's a professional, with a world cup to prepare for net season, he'll perform to thee best of his abilities, we wouldn't be interested if he didn't.

off arsenal-mania.com : Why would Alexis go to City anyway? We'll offer him plenty of money, and they are worse underachievers than us. If he just wants trophies, City aren't the place to go.

Aaah, remember the good old days when we had to offer plenty of money to top class players to come to us because we were serious underachievers,
-ruining football in the process!
Now it seems it's a good idea to offer plenty of money to top class players to to go to them because they are serious underachievers!
Doing it the right way , of course.

I think the reason it is difficult to take anything you say is that your sort of talking hypotheticals and not giving anything concrete.

Your saying 8 players in 5 positions is too much, because players like Sane and Sterling won't get enough games, you should show this if this is the case using simple maths. The first thing you have to ask yourself is how many full games (assuming 90 mins played per game) is enough in your opinion?

Using simple math: 8 players in 5 spots and with likely atleast 55 games next season that means on average each player gets (5/8)*55 = 34 games next season.

Using this process how many games on average should each player get that is deemed acceptable to you? (I'm actually curious).

7 players in 5 spots: (5/7)*55 = 39 games per player
6 players in 5 spots: (5/6)*55 = 46 games per player

and no depth means 55 games per player which is obviously a bad idea giving you no room for injuries.

Edit: Would like to add that I don't want Sanchez either, would much rather have Roberts come in and get atleast 25-30 games, with sterling and sane getting a bit more.
I understand the Maths.

The issue is that rotation prevents players from gaining momentum and in turn will probably hinder the development of certain players. Looking at it logically, when everyone was fit in Jan, Aguero couldn't get a game. Add in Sanchez and Silva and you have a problem. I'm aware that Navas and Nolito have moved on but I'd seriously question if either player would ever be good enough go stake a claim based on merit.

My point is simple. If you decide to throw 130m at 3 young attackers, let them play and develop. Back them to succeed. Don't block their path by signing players who will play ahead of them.

Name me a top side who can rotate 8-9 players for 4-5 positions whilst maximising the development of their young players and maintaining the harmony of the older players. Hasn't worked at Real, hasn't worked at Bayern.
