With regards to Sanchez, Arsenal should've been offering him an improved contract towards the end of his first season with you - he'd had a great season and it was obvious to everyone that he was an established quality player.

I will add that Arsenal did a great job in securing Sanchez (and also Ozil) in the first place which shows that there is some ambition there and the fee you paid was a steal, but they've undone the good work by allowing this situation to develop in what is an all too familiar scenario for Arsenal fans. The signings of Ozil and Sanchez should have been a forerunner for other marquee signings to follow suit but instead of building on it, the board (and/or Wenger) failed to capitalise in subsequent transfer windows. However, it does look like they've woken up belatedly to this issue going off some of your rumoured targets this summer. That may well be too late to hang on to Sanchez if he's already agreed to join another club, but weirdly even if he goes you could still end up having your best transfer window in years.

Exactly bud, i'd of thought the club / board would've realised the mistake at letting RVP go to a rival and letting his contract run down. As much as i hate to agree, spurs do a much better job a tying down their top players then we do absolutely. Still think if usmanov was incharge, there wouldn't be a sanchez saga this summer, but hey ho.

But yeh, it's looking inevitable that sanchez will most likely leave, and as i keep mentioning i fully understand why, FA cups are good, but he must be begging for a PL title. As you said, we could still go on to have a pretty good transfer window, providing we don't play cheap skates and not pay the full asking prices for players. Lemar is a ready made replacement for sanchez out on that LW.

The board should've been offering sanchez £300k p/w after his first season, he was immense, but i can never put my full confidence in this board sadly...if it was usmanov however, i'd be much more confident with contracts / ambition ECT.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Wenger run everything players contracts etc and has a policy of not discussing a players new contract until they reach the final 18months????

I have no idea on that mate, if he does then he need's relieving of that poisition. Fucking stupid if that's the case.

My view is we should all calm down and let the club sort it out, there is no rush anyway. In fact it would suit City if the arse do drag their feet on this. Chile play their last game at the weekend. Sanchez gets 5 weeks off as holiday. That takes us to early mid August. He then needs his personal pre season and that takes us to early September when he would make a few cameo appearances of 20 and 30 minutes in games before getting a start around the end of September. Let the arse pay his wages until the end of August as he is not going to play for any team before then.

5 weeks holiday? isn't it 3 weeks for players coming from international duty?
 
The Arsenal board always miss out on targets like Benzema because they won't stump up the required money to get them. £50m to have them for 5 years.

Yet Arsenal fans think the board will happily lose out on the same amount of money by stubbornly keeping Sanchez one more year.

It's basically like signing Sanchez for £50m for a season. They just won't do that no matter how much of a fuss Arsenal fans kick up.

I remember similar threats of rioting only a few months ago over Wenger and the guy got a new 2 year deal.

just listened to stevie nichol on espn about sanchez.....what a prick, i mean hes bashing sanchez because his attitude caused other players to not play well HAHAHAHA

i just stumbled on at work to take a look and watched a video....i wish i could have commented on it because it was pathetic listening to him say that if sanchez goes to city it will be because he is so horrible in the dressing room....thats the only reason i almost spit out m lunch

That is the narrative on this transfer,ITV pundits and commentary said the same thing last week,they hate the fact we may be getting him,every big transfer is the same,looks like it's on so they bad mouth them,really predictable
 
And to think of how little fuss our media made over bignose's signing fee, massive wage and bonus clauses... they pretty much tried as hard as they could not to talk about it. Along with Pogba's fee and disappointing first season, that France friendly where he was half decent was used to say "they'll win the league if he can perform like that at Utd with any consistency".

I know some here must work in the media because they are always jumping to it's defence telling us we're just paranoid but I'm not having that we live in a world where the media tries to spin the truth rather than report it as is(which is what they desperately want us to believe) because of hidden agendas(pro rag/pro dipper) their trick is to always maintain some deniability.
