Good. Stick it to them.
If thats true it sounds like the same tactic he used to make Bayern back out, which may mean we are still his first choice.

Shame we aren't in bed with PSG on this. Sell Sanchez to them £50m we sign him £55m straight from them. Arsenal none the wiser.
That was my first thought to then realised it was Sky Sports, who are cluelessIf thats true it sounds like the same tactic he used to make Bayern back out, which may mean we are still his first choice.
Exactly, "It's a shame" it would never happen. Why the fuck would PSG do that? Why would they not keep Sanchez for themselves and why would they do or either we do that to their relations with Arsenal and ban themselves to ever buy their player again or sell them a one. It's really mind boggling idea that's not mentioned first time on this thread, like we're some kind of Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern in the one club and PSG and Arsenal your average Huddersfield. It's raggish as it comes.
He effectively drew his line when he intimated he would not be signing an extension.

Settle down fella.
That's your call flobo, from my POV whinger said from day dot he won't sell alexis to us. It seems at the mo he has another buyer so he's been as good as his word. Without sounding (ahem) bitter I've always felt were a couple of functional full backs and a few fair reffing displays away from walking this league, Sanchez was/is a luxury we don't really have an actual need for, no joke but I'd happily see us sign a player that alters the focus of our attack if plan a isn't working not taking a place of a player who essentially plays in the same way. To us he's the football equivalent of a private number plateI wouldn't give credit to Wenger/Afc...Sanchez and his agent will do what they want...If he stays at Afc it's because he wants to..if he goes to PSG it's because he wants to..i don't believe for 1 minute Sanchez or his agent thought Afc would want to sell him to a PL rival(no evidence so far Sanchez as tried to force a move to a PL club)
Give Arsenal £60m just to drive up the price
Totally agree, though I think these days it's so simple for clubs to turn a players head, especially it seems those from South AmericaMy point is that that's short of a full transfer request. Intimated is the key word. If he wants City, he's had every opportunity to make it explicit. Not making it explicit says it all.
Instead he said 'It's up to Arsenal', which indicates he wanted to leave but wasn't prepared to burn his bridges with them by kicking off. It's become clear that that is what's required to force a move to City. He effectively said he wasn't prepared to do it.
I don't blame Sanchez for that or expect every player to prioritise City above all else. I do think City should be stronger in these situations when it becomes clear. Maybe Sanchez was saying other things to Pep and Txiki, but actions speak louder than words.
Apologies, I forgot to add in Liverpool for comparison sake. I would expect Sane to improve that aspect year on year if he is given proper game time, Jesus will get a lot I imagine this year, Aguero is probably the best goalscorer in the league. You had 6 less goals than the top scorers Spurs last season, I would suggest you could easily make that up with just having Jesus play a full season. Not to mention the difference having proper attacking full backs will have, which perhaps allow the likes of Sane to drift in more to get in more goalscoring positions.
I've not looked at the numbers but surely the likes of De Bruyne matches the peers of his position goalscoring wise?

There's quite some 'actual' politics involved with that scenario, it's probably more likely to catch trump bumming the ayatollahShame we aren't in bed with PSG on this. Sell Sanchez to them £50m we sign him £55m straight from them. Arsenal none the wiser.
Not just their arses but his own as well, he set them up to play in that styleTotally agree with this and I believe pep will have kicked their collective arses to make sure this happens
Nail on head there brotherGood point, I don't really blame them either. Imagine you're a top pro and the role of Europe and South America is reveresed. All the prestige/money is in South America. You're English and you're good enough to get a move out there.
Are you that bothered about the difference between Boca Juniors (Argentina) and Corinthians (Brazil)? If you could double your money by going to Colombia or Ecuador, where the leagues are weaker but you still have a chance of competing for the Copa Libertadores, would you not do it just because of the standard of the league? It's only 5 years, maybe 10 max.
Life in Europe is just a chapter in the lives of these guys. Most will make their money and go home to their 'real' lives, and tell tales to their kids about how crazy European football fans are. Fair play to them.
