I would not doubt Sanchez's professionalism. He wasn't born a millionaire, everything he says usually revolves around hard work and giving his best. His best chance of a move next season to a club he wants is by being world class this season.
Its hard to make transfers this summer, no club seems to need money, we probably are finding it too hard and costly to replace him.

You talk as if we're the only club that might look to keep a player looking to leave. Liverpool kept Suarez and Xabi Alonso, Dortmund kept Lewandowski, Southampton kept Schneiderlin, Leicester kept Mahrez, Man Utd kept Ronaldo & De Gea. All examples off the top of my head, and all got the head down once the season started. I remember Tevez being homesick on an annual basis and Yaya pining for Birthday Cakes as well.
Eh? How long for?

Suarez joined Barcelona a year later, Alonso joined Madrid a year later, Lewandowski joined Bayern, Schneiderlin joined United shortly after, Mahrez will probably move this summer and Ronaldo came in the press saying he was being treated as a slave to force through his move to Madrid. They were all under contract but the clubs knew they wanted out and bargained a season of loyalty for a promised transfer at the end of it.

Arsenal can't bargain this with Sanchez.

This saga needs to end, I hope his decision is made by end of this month

i personally think he will stay at arsenal......I don't think he will have much option.

Arsenal don't want to sell him....he cant force them to

They will go al out to make sure hey qualify for Champs league and then look to get him to change his mind based on that.

And none were in the last year of their contract when they first asked to move

Right, and the reason is market prize is likely to be even higher next year.
Whereas Alexis's prize for you will slump dramatically next summer.

Even if you have to pay say 70m eur for Lemar - as ASM is tired selling their stars - and Txiki would only offer 60m eur for Sanchez,
wouldn't even that make some sense given Lemar might cost 80m next year?

Well, it's speculation. Not easy to decide at all.
You lot will have to leave Thursday's cup early to go all in for top 4. Don't mess that up!

If he stays with arsenal this season, why would he need to play at world class standard to move to a club he wants next season? Regardless of how well or badly he might play, he is a class player and as a free transfer would have all the top clubs after him.

+1

They have nothing to offer him. City should make it clear that they are willing to wait until next season if necessary. Then Arsenal will have a very simple choice to make: suck up their pride and accept a respectable transfer fee or keep an unhappy player and lose him for nothing next season. If Sanchez puts up a fuss then I really can't see Arsenal keeping him. The player will determine how this ends. Honestly, if one of our players didn't want to stay then I'd want him sold immediately.

OK, for the 3rd time, the post was not about how much is left on the contract, or hoping that he stays on. I think we can all accept he's leaving this summer, or next. The point was asking if he"ll down tools if he does stay, and I would suggest most of the evidence suggests he'll try and perform like he always has.

I know theres every chance we won't get to see this play out, as there's a fair chance he'll be at City anyway.

No, but he can make them want to sell him :)
No club will keep a player that unsettles the dressing room. Particularly when they are able to sell that player for a handsome sum. And particularly when that player would leave for free anyway at the end of the season.

Sanchez holds all the cards. If he wants a move and is serious, he needs to make a statement to that affect. As far as Arsenal are concerned it's £50M (or there abouts) or nothing. And us? Well, make the bid wait a week if nothing happens, close the door, and leave them to it

I just think that Arsenal will be so stubborn because they have had to do it numerous times before......i think they will take a big risk, keep him (even against his will) and hope to get top 4 and then convince him to stay......They could even then still lose him on a free but I think they have decided that they need to make a stand somewhere and this is it

I would be fine waiting until January as there seems little to no chance of him extending his deal with Arsenal so the fee will be slashed. I think we have enough variety in the squad and if we suffer some injuries perhaps we revisit in Jan. The fee is too much at this stage - but then again if Pep demands we get him now I have no issue at all, as others have said it's not our money.
