Alexis Sanchez

Wenger is a bitter twat when it comes to us. Can't handle our success and the resources we have ( see comments re "fueled by Petrol"). We made a good offer for Sanchez in the summer and they decided to snub it. The whole thing left us fuming. Sanchez should let his contract run down, we should get him on a free to teach that twat a lesson. And the owners can mull over 60 mil they pissed down the drain for no good reason. They aint finishing top 4

I don't understand people saying he would be free I assume Sanchez and his agent would negotiate a large portion of the transfer fee into the Sanchez bank account
For me it allows other clubs the chance to muscle in , get him now whilst he wants us .
I get we may wish to give him the money and not Arsenal though

If I were Sanchez I'd be a tad fucked off if City didn't try again in January. It'll be a waste of a season really and a chance of a medal or two gone.

Granted, if I were Sanchez I'd have my millions in the bank from Arsenal to ease the pain I suppose.
The fee getting transferred into his bank account instead of theirs will probably cheer him up a bit.

Sanchez in January is an absolute no brainer for me if we can do it. This lad is talented and can create goals from nothing which against parked buses is useful.

He can't derail a season that much surely when 15 points ahead.

I don’t think Wenger snubbed anything... he stubbornly left it late to look for somebody else and that scuppered the deal.... asking for Raheem was foolish and designed to try and derail us IMHO

Yeah, I think we’ll almost certainly get a centre half. Presumably Martinez or Evans.
Let’s hope it’s the former, lol.

Just checked Martinez’s stats, has pretty much played every game for them over last 6 seasons, scores a fair few too.

I can understand that feeling of revenge and wounded pride,
although I really expect City's managers to decide rather on fundamental facts than on emotions.

At this point I think we don't need ANY further player to win the PL.
This squad should also be able to win the EFL Cup, where the final is expected.

FA Cup depends a bit on draws.

So the only point about winter transfers is the current CL campaign.
The CL title is huge for Pep (for me as well).

Save that money for Sanchez now if you want. Although he would be far below market value and we easily could afford him.
So the only reason would be wounded pride and "teach that twat a lesson".

But if we fail in CL only because we didn't have enough power and options up top, well, that truly would be a wasted chance.
Question is, do we need him for the CL or not?

City should always try to improve their market position. I would do it now.

We should definitely be doing our best to bring him in in January, both Aguero and Jesus are looking in need of some help and going into the latter stages of competition requires that bit extra.

Imagine Aguero's reaction if we brought in another striker in January lol

I'd rather have a striker who can score regularly than keep one that isn't happy. He can't miss that number of chances in a CL QF/SF.

Since November 18th Kun has scored 5 goals (2 pens) in 9 appearances from 36 shots, Jesus has 1 goal in has last 10 games and hasn't scored since November 18th, from 19 shots.

So that's 6 goals between them in 19 appearances and 55 shots, it's not good enough.

Beware the Ides of Marsh....
No way that will be happening. Anyway that is a part of City folklore which in my opinion is vastly over emphasised. We were playing well that season
granted but we had a long way to go to win the league. Contrary to what has gone down in history I think the transfer gave a chance to win a league that we
would have come up short if the transfer had not happened. Sanchez is a very different case. If we win the next few games the league is virtually in the bag. This guy would then be needed for Europe and in my opinion he would give us a chance of winning it rather than derailing our challenge.

Those stats are very worrying and you are right it won't be good enough to challenge in Europe. That said I thought Kun was a bit unlucky last night not to get on the score sheet. Jesus looks well short in front of goal but is putting in a useful shift around the pitch for the team. Hopefully things will work out for the best in the spring.

If the Premierleague think they’ve got it bad now, just wait until these two find their shooting boots again!!!

yhp, our rivals will have to improve a lot because we've won 18 games in a row and I don't think this side has scratched the surface in terms of potential. There will be seasons where we don't get close to this run yet are a far better side and play even better football, more complete football, which is frightening for the rest.
