watching it, have watched him for the last few months though and still dont want or think we need him. Free transfer in the summer would be good though and I assume he would jump at the chance too

He will move to another level in this pep team wether that be January or in the summer

We'd be stupid not to go for him in January.

I think it's unbelievable, and more than a little disappointing, that Tolmie's heard we won't go for him from the very top. They need their heads testing!

Yes, the current trajectory of the club certainly supports that contention.

We've been brilliant this season so far, but I don't understand why we'd turn down the opportunity to add proven world class to an already fantastic squad!

Especially as Jesus seems a little out of form and Sergio was so wasteful the other night.

Would be a real blow to other teams, too, seeing us get Sanchez: we could show we'd have our foot on their throats right until the end of season.

I am kind of hoping the club will have seen that Newcastle game along with the West Ham and Southampton performances and realised that maybe if we can get one more top quality attacking option we could do something really special this season.

I personally think the only reason we wouldn’t go for Sanchez in January is the affect he may have on harmony between the attackers, who if we are honest have all over performed in relation to the expectations we had on them at the start of the season.

At the end of the day we budgeted around £60m this season to get him in the summer so it’s not like we are scrapping around for pennies or worried about FFP, also if we get him in January and he helps win us the Champions League along with the league and maybe one of the cups, the figure we pay for him in January will look like an absolute bargain.

I think £25m/ £30m will get him in January.

No way do Arsenal let go of Özil and Sanchez both for free in the summer in my opinion.

Sanchez presses from the front like a Pep player, he calls on his defence to come up the park and press like a Pep team. Knows the league, knows the system, and will make others play even better.

Wenger was asked about not many players running over to celebrate with Sanchez after his goal (and that Wenger seemed to be beckoning players to go over) and whether that was an indication of a team spirit issue.

Wenger’s response?

“No, I didn’t see that.”

Classic.

or Wilshire ,or ramsey, theyve got a lot of negotiations to do asap

Qualifying to the Champions League is worth more than 40 Million Pound, therefore its better to stick with him, qualify and lose him for free instead of selling him and not qualifying.

Agree.

You are talking £60m each for Özil and Sanchez in today’s market.

Replacing them with no incoming transfer fee’s from either of them is bad business acumen.

If City were in a similar situstion I am pretty sure despite Mansour’s ownership we would have sold both last summer if we knew both were not willing to renew.

£30 million is ridiculous fee for someone with 5 months left on a contract. They have to sell him in he next four weeks so start at £10mil next week and go down week by week. They'll gladly take the original £10 mill by week 4.

Agree.

Wenger will insist he stays, but I still think the accountants behind the scenes are going to want some money from one of Özil or Sanchez.

I don’t think it will be £10m, but £20m-£25m yes.

We would probably end up giving Sanchez a £10-£15m signing on bonus regardless, so an extra £5m/£10m in January shouldn’t cost us too much.

The analysis of his teammates shunning his goal celebration will make all the papers tomorrow. He got MOTM, but I never saw him interviewed at the end. Not a happy ship and Wenger didn’t sound as assured when asked whether Sanchez would be there after the window.
