Alexis Sanchez

The situation Wenger finds himself in was entirely predictable and was predicted by many in the summer. Perhaps a compromise fee could be agreed which will allow Arsenal to save face and give Sanchez the move he wants? Worth 20 million just to see Mourinho having kittens when he finds out we've added another world class player for peanuts in today's market

10 at the very best. We're walking the league and don't have any need to add expensive players when we can have them for free in the summer.

1. Arsenal will tell us to get fucked if we offer 10mil, pointless.
2. He will NOT be free in the summer, how many times does this have to be reiterated, we will have to pay him a big signing on fee and larger wages.
3. Why take the risk he will go elsewhere.
4. He may be the difference between us winning an extra cup or not, possibly improving our chances in the Champs league.

Enough?

We need him for the Champions league this season. We create lots of chances, but need to put more of them in the back of the net.

Do people genuinely believe this guy wouldn't improve us?

Do you actually think he's going to accept smaller money from us now vs. July?

I do think there is a valid argument that he could mix up some of the squad "chemistry" especially among the attacking players as Sane and Sterling are already fighting for their spots every match. Are we too far ahead in the league for that to cost us? Probably, but I'd still rather in the summer and focus in January on improving our defensive depth.

I personally also wonder why he is touted so much as a "Pep player" when I thought I read a statistic that no one even comes close for the amount of times he gives up possession?

I think Bernardo, Jesus and Aguero would be more concerned with Sanchez's arrival in the immediate future. Last season, Pep talked at length about how he should have played Sanchez up front at Barca because he was incredible there for Arsenal. He can press like Jesus, but is scoring more, he would give fluidity across the front line and allow Sterling and Sané to come inside hunting for goals more.

The chemistry thing is a gamble, but on form he's one of the very best players in the country, and he would improve the squad.

They've come back cap in hand, hence the leaks about Alexis upsetting the dressing room.

A justification for accepting peanuts.

It's still doubtful City will do them any favours.

At this stage, it's also down to how much the player wishes to reduce his financial package, as there is a massive difference to his signing on fee, as opposed to everyone sitting tight until July.

Yep, given how we're going this season Sanchez would be as fucked off at City as he was at Arsenal in the summer if we don't try to to sign him now in my opinion.

I'm not saying that's right but he'll probably see it as a wasted season.
I think Arsenal have every intention of doing the deal in Jan, just brinksmanship over the fee - as I’ve said before, I reckon a compromise of circa £30mil will be agreed where both teams feel it’s realistic.

Alexis desperate to join City in Jan (according to press). Well TBH why wouldn't he want to join an pick up a medal. Still win win for us.
