Alexis Sanchez

My gut reaction is that if this transfer were to happen this window he would have been here on day 1. Same as VVD to Liverpool with all the formalities being concluded between clubs from Sept to Dec. IMO you dont hand around till the window before you start the negotiations. I accept of course Arsenal may have wanted Sanchez for certain games before releasing him to us. Just hope I am wrong as I said earlier starting to feel as though it wont happen.

I'm certain that we'll get him eventually, just not sure if it will be this window now. Have heard that we're happy to wait until summer, but hope we're just calling Arsenal's bluff. We've got an unprecedented opportunity (for us at least) to have a serious go at four trophies, but need reinforcements. Would be a mistake not to strengthen now imo, especially if it's over a few million pounds.

It would be stupid over a 'few' million pounds, but it's right to put a limit on it, if Arsenal start taking the piss. There could be other out of contract players in the near future, who we would like to pick up, but for future transfer fees in general, we don't want to be seen like Utd are, to be idiots who will just pay absolutely anything.

Just slightly worried that PSG will step in and say, "Fine. £30,000,000, you say? Here it is". We know that Alexis has indicated repeatedly that he wants to play with Pep, but Paris wouldn't at all be a bad second option, from his point of view. And Arsenal would not be selling to a PL rival. On the other hand, PSG are pretty crowded up front, too.

PSG can't buy anyone.

They need to sell to fund Mbappe in the summer.

If anything, yesterdays game showed how important to is to have a clinical goalscorer. Dont think we cant rely on Sane and/or Sterling to have that responsibility when it comes to it.

Makes little sense to take Sanchez on summer as well; if Man city keeps up with this pace and win titles, im sure there will be other younger prospects who might be more interesting or interested in us.

I think the opposite.

If it was me in charge, the deal would be either done or off, in the first days of the window, but if City have a price in mind & have put it to Arsenal, as soon as you start dealing with Wenger, you get this bizarre shit where he pretends he's not had any contact, then says he never had any intention to sell, then says he'll never sell, then agrees to sell, but only after playing the (unsettled) player several times, & of course in the summer, he waited til the death (as usual) & fucked it all up, after not replying to City's offer, until the last day.

It would not surprise me, if he plays him tonight, then sells him tomorrow, either. The guy is a fucking weirdo, who does this kind of thing, instead of being a serial killer.

Don t worry PSG can offer Arsenal 170milion. Alexis does not have to go. What would gunners do , banish him to reserves LOL

Why do I keep reading that Arsenal hold all the cards? They've got a player who doesn't want to be there and this is their last chance to get some money for him, knowing keeping him guarantees absolutely nothing bar having to pay that players wages. Sanchez could down tools for the rest of the season and still walk into any top club he chooses in the summer. If Arsenal are holding any cards they're shit. Keeping him at this point is spite and big deals are rarely so personal.

Arsenal would be absolute idiots not to sell him this week, in the hope that he helps us take 3 points off the dippers.

If we drop any points to the dippers and it's the difference between top 4 or not for Arsenal, they'll have only themselves to blame.

I hope you are right. (Not the serial killer obviously)

You have enough quality to see off the dippers.

Its called a contract

Exactly, but that doesn't count on here for some

Technically correct, but you could say that of every transfer. Liverpool didn't have to sell Coutinho, but they did. Just need to get the right conditions and the case for selling is too compelling to turn down
