We made it clear to Alexis that we wanted him 12 months ago. Arsenal tried to flog him abroad. He turned down PSG and Bayern. No doubt this pissed off Wenger to the extent he didn't countenance selling to us, a perceived rival. That is until Liverpool thrashed them with a less than interested Alexis in the side. However Arsenal needed a replacement and had left it to late.

Alexis continues to underperform but we are resigned to waiting until the summer and in fact do not need him. Jesus gets injured and everything changes. We want Sanchez now. Arsenal haggle for the best deal they can get and they still need a replacement.
