I don't think it's been a question of dithering, we have been negotiating with Arsenal for a few days, from a supposed position of strength.
Whether that is because Sanchez is still steadfast in his commitment to Pep and City, nobody seems to know.
Pretty black and white to me at this stage.
If Arsenal bluff it out, and Sanchez still only wants City, then he becomes a very rich man indeed this summer.
In that respect, whatever United may be offering to take him in January cannot come anywhere close in terms of those numbers.
However, if Sanchez has suddenly contemplated United, it can only be to be a guaranteed regular starter and an amazing selling job done by Mourinho.
Which is slight a contradiction in itself, as that would be for footballing reasons only, and City again should be winning that hands down.
Mourinho and United have all day to spin their responses (5.30pm tonight) - they won't leave their arse hanging out of the window if they know they have no chance - even if being non-committal would usually be an advantage in terms of ramping the price up here on City/why would they want to do Arsenal favour on that score?
