15 points clear of them at the moment. I still can’t see him joining them but if he does then it’s purely for money. It will be a shame but we are so far ahead in league and Jesus back in 3 weeks it might be a blessing.

we went for him in 2011 at udinese, and lost out, I was dissapointed then as we needed him and it would have made a big difference at the time, now if we miss out, meh we can go for someone else.

If the rags get him and are gonna pay over the odds, just to stick it to us then, shows how far they have fallen.

Sun Sport suggesting "as his move to City looms closer" - although that's just the Sun.

I imagine if this isn't happening that the club will brief the press shortly about the finances being too high.

But you could argue we should have got the deal wrapped up and signed before PSG (and now United) had the chance to swoop in and say "Come to us, we value you more".

Every club has a chance to swoop in because nothing is done until the ink is dry.

You cant just talk to or have a player sign a contract without first having a deal with the club and it was always going to be the case that come january, he was able to talk to anyone he wanted.

It looks like we have made our offer and wont budge on it, its that simple.

No one to blame, shit happens.

Hasnt been announced anywhere yet. Its almost double what we were reportedly paying. If i was moving jobs and offered double elsewhere id consider it.

We will pay more in summer for a younger player if we dont get him but that can be amortized over longer.

Lets see

People on here losing it coz utd have got Sanchez possibly over us.
You need to wake up and look at the bigger picture.
If this is how utd fans think they've got one over on us and trail us by 15 points then I'll take it.
I know which I'd rather be cheering about.

We had it wrapped up, Arsenal fucked it with their incompetence over Lamar.

Personally if this is true I think this is his reaction to us making him wait so long. Digging our feet in the ground trying to make a point to Wenger and Arsenal and then United just dump a truck load of money at his feet and he thinks fuck it I'm done waiting. I think he would have signed for less money than the rags are offering if we'd just paid what Arsenal were asking for originally and got it done quickly.

Absolutely mate.

its not over until its over and im still hoping that between ourselves and Sanchez we are literally trolling the ****s here.
There's clearly a chance he's off to united, just think nobody should trust a word that comes out of Cross's mouth. He has great contacts at Arsenal but they use him to deliberately spread misinformation as often as they give him genuine information. Would the Arsenal hierarchy know anything about contract negotiations between Sanchez and united and would Sanchez tell them what he's thinking in terms of negotiations with other clubs? I don't know how these things work but I would have thought it is unlikely in this situation where Sanchez's relationship with Arsenal has more or less broken down.

Think the £400k a week demands were made to Bayern and PSG and that's why they pulled out. Maybe City were the most attractive footballing destination offering a competative wage but as soon as £400k a week was offered by anyone he would have signed on the dotted line.

If it is true then maybe Sanchez himself has become pee'ed off with City's inability to make a proper move instead of messing around with a £20 Million bid.

But you could argue we should have got the deal wrapped up and signed before PSG (and now United) had the chance to swoop in and say "Come to us, we value you more".
Could we have though? You'd imagine that the agent would have fished for united and others to get in the mix before any ink was put to paper.

The only way that would be avoided was if Sanchez insisted on City regardless and that doesn't sound the case now.

I suspect that when he's interviewed later on MUTV he'll say Mourinho called him and showed him that he wanted him more than anyone else (I.e. City weren't prepared to pay enough to make him feel like a God on Earth).
