I'm with you on this Ric....we got to always be one step ahead of the pack, if we want to stay on top. Very rare a forward of his talent becomes available for such a low price! Feeling like Alves all over again. Genuine question....Do you feel we got "too" confident in this transfer? Expecting the "Pep factor" to trump the money on offer. Feels like we tried to get to clever thinking he coming on a free and allowed Rags to jump ahead (if rumours are true!)

Bit of a pisser this one. It’s all well and good mocking how much the rags are paying him but they’ve set the level now and in a few years we’ll probably be paying the same to our top stars. A bit like how the 5million to Hazards agent seemed absurd at the time, fast forward a couple of years and agents are getting way more now. I’d rather have just got the player in at a stupid price and took the stick off media and opposition fans, its all hypocritical at the end of the day.
Hopefully Sterling and Sane can stay fit for the rest of the season and we bring in an exciting 3rd option in the summer.

Yep, where I am too. He will improve them and will be guaranteed more game time but he will likely win nothing this season which leaves him the prospect of going into his 31st year ‘needing’ some silverware before the inevitable playering career decline.....

It's not worth ruining or wage structure and possibly having some very unhappy players on our hands. Sterling needs to renew soon, imagine how much we would have to pay him if we gave Sanchez 400k p.w.
