Bet he has to invest part of the fee in dabbing lessons otherwise he won’t cut it with his new team mates

If it was the other way around and we were the ones guzumping them and paying the high fees... would you care about the money?

Or would you just be happy that you got a quality player?

Since FFP too many fans are turning into quasi-accountants who celebrate a balance sheet.

Only when it suits. Nobody gives a shit about the money when we sign someone. As soon as we don't sign someone, it's great that the club has taken a stand. When we spunk £80m on someone in the summer with no Prem experience, everyone will be delighted again.

£400 grand a week for someone who will be 30 next year, not bad if you can get it, won't compensate for the trophies he's going to miss out on though.

What's all this not committed 100% stuff. If another team comes in for you and a massive pay rise you'd consider it no? Not every player that moves only has one option their heart is set on?

Good point mate....not sure why people think players only move for romance or desire to play for a team. For most its a job that pays very well and its Sanchez/his agents job to get the best deal possible. He would have made us better but now he'll make them better...its our job to make us look like the best option! When you understand this is likely his last big payday, its crazy to think we'd expect him to take "alot" less to play for us. All things equal, he'd be a blue but for some reason we wanted him to take millions less to come to us!

I wouldn't care if the price we paid was in line with our valuation. If we paid more than we thought he was worth though I'd be royally pissed off. Paying more for something than you believe it to be worth is really strange behaviour and it would tell me that the wrong people were running the club.

Who knows the reasons but we have briefed the press and taken a stand on this one. It cant be about the transfer fee. Can only be about agents fees and player wages.

We obviously have the means to make these sort of deals when we see fit but in this instance they do not believe we will the get the necessary bang for our buck.

Thank you. Be interesting to see how he does at Utd. I always thought he was the right player at the wrong time for City

If they have any sense they will play him as their 9, but the mard one won't bin off lukaku, so he will play left side with a defensive role as well, or as a 10 which means pogba will have to play deeper. Neither of those scenario's worry me unduly.

I don't get it, where has it been mentioned from a reliable source that he is going to that lot. I've just watched Sunday supplement, the defeat to the bin dippers and surfed through shit loads of tittle tattle but where does it say we are out of it and he's definitely going to that lot?

Oh here we go. Wondered how long it would be before the insults started flying.

To be fair, if you consistently post negative stuff about City then it’s bound to irk some people, as I’m sure you’re well aware. I know you’ll claim that some people just can’t handle uncomfortable truths, and to be honest I sometimes find myself agreeing with you, but when it’s constantly pessimistic it gets a bit tiresome. I’ve just checked, and the last three game threads you’ve commented on (aside from a barb about team selection against Bristol City) have been today’s defeat, the semi-final defeat to Arsenal and the draw at Middlesbrough. The record breaking winning run has passed seemingly without comment, so it’s not a great surprise if people think that you’re wumming. It’s fine to be critical when things go wrong, as long as you’re balanced enough to give praise when it’s due too.

Ric do you know of any alternative options the club might have for the attack? This is a massive blow to us.

Pretty much, under Mourinho they seem to be repeatedly buying players that don't fit in his teams. Sanchez isn't a target man like drogba and isn't a quick, hardworking counter attack winger. Fuck knows what they'll do with him, same thing they did getting Pogba and to a lesser extent Lukaku. only Matic and Bailly are players that look like Mourinho signings for a Mourinho style team
