There is no way in a million years that the original "offer" was genuine. It was made to be mischievous in our dealings and to bump the price and fee up. You have to give credit to City for calling their bluff and this really then backed United into a corner.

Mikhitariyan is a player Arsenal have admired for a long time and United were fully aware of this and knew they could use him as part of any deal.

Can you believe it has come to a Sanchez/Micky swap though? I can't but I feel there's more to it.
When you see Dzeko and Evans going for £30m plus at 30 years old and more Arse would never have been able to get a player to replace him. Micky as bad as he's been at the rags is a great deal for Arse when they nearly got nothing at all for Sanchez had another few months passed.

In as much as the rags have a plan, I think this is it. Transfer fee and wage inflation benefit them as one of the richest clubs in the world. They became dominant historically simply by pricing everyone else out of the market and I think they may be at it again having written the rules on FFP to further hamper the opposition.
This benefits City too. Remember our turnover is £100m short of Utd and a Guardiola inspired era is going to make City financially No. 1 in my opinion. Really the financial spin offs for a record-breaking City team playing beautiful football are unprecedented.

Someone like David Conn, or any respected financially minded football journalist should write an article regarded the fees paid by Man Utd to agents under Mourinho.

If City had spent £60m plus on agents fees over a couple of seasons there would be investigations and calls for action / regulation. The role of agents in football for doing very little, is scandalous, and I am sure a lot of Utd fans would agree. Yes, players need representation, but why not use the PFA? So two issues there. The role of agents in general, and the specific monies paid by Man Utd to support their transfer dealing under Mourinho. With all the talk about financial fair play this is a prime candidate for regulation. It's a cosy set-up though for some very wealthy clubs though who don't mind paying an extra £15m to guarantee deals.

One of these agents is about to have a field day with united in the summer...... it is going to be hilarious

Can we have life long bans on anyone who calls Henrikh Mkhitaryan any of the 250 child like ways I've seen on here. Fully grown adults and all, worrying.

What's worrying is that your bothered by it, Thomarse.

Although, on the face of it at least, they’ve swapped a player who’s been very very good in the PL, for one who’s been very very poor.

The problem is United can afford to do this so are perhaps either by accident or as a tactic extending our FFP limit vulnerability. Unless we and other teams match their income we cannot afford the offers they make to top players.
There becomes a point though when some players want to actually win trophies over money, he's an improvement to their squad there's no question about that but i feel this deal will have long term effect both inside and outside of the dressing room.

I’m ok with this. They laughed at us when we signed De Bruyne, sane, Sterling, Walker, mendy, stones

Now they are scrambling trying to match us because they play like a mangy dog that drags its arse along the grass

The funny thing with this deal is how the Rag fans are in denial about the wages, everyone that I have spoken to is saying that they are only playing him £300k not the £480k quoted.
But when you ask them where they get this figure from they just respond with "there is no way we are paying him that much". So in spite of numerous journalist all reporting this £14 million a year net figure they are just ignoring it and coming up with their own narrative.

I'm sure they are not bothered. They're effectively swapping Mkhitaryans wage for sanchez, not paying a fee and just covering the agents fees, and it probably guarantees them Champions League football. However in future seasons it is going to have an impact. Short term gain, long term pain.

The journalists said that the transfer to Man City was guaranteed ...
they said that the deal was Mkhitaryan + £ 30m for Sánchez

I do not believe anything they say / write (except Ornstein)

Sánchez is no longer our problem ... £480/500 p/w post taxes It's the Rags' problem.
the thread is becoming pathetic

Just hope the impact he has isnt as quick as RVP when he went there, even though only a one season wonder. Stand by for the rag propaganda, Sanchez has always regarded them as the best team in the world biggest, club best manager and that when the Rags came calling even having said he would play for us there was no choice even though the wages are less.

Every player who signs for them is briefed to say that in their signing interview.

Re biggest club/best manager. It's about projecting an image which woody thinks will pull the wool over everyones eyes.

I just sit back and enjoy the fact had we wanted him,i mean really really wanted him united would havd no chance of getting him whatsover.
Then add the facy that they actually know that's the case.

Lovely.
