I agree he still has a lot to proove - maybe he is a "small" club manager, maybe he isn't - bottom line is we don't know yet. Why, for once, don't we do what makes sense and hold on making a decision until we have a few more facts. Chopping and changing managers in the past has done us fuck all good. Lets give it another year AT LEAST - we won't go down and what's another year on top of 33? And maybe, just maybe, a bit of stability, some wedge and a group of fans 100% behind the whole club might end the 33 years in the trophy wilderness.

I await an inevitable barrage of abuse

we very well could go down with this clueless cock at the helm! and what's with the 33 years crap i think this club has waited too long for silverware and i for one do not want to wait a fucking minute longer!

So whats your answer?

Jesus, are we not allowed to form our own opinions? Personally, after seeing £120m of investment I don't think gaining no ground on the top 6 is good enough. Our away form has been pitiful, and though we might've had decent results at home, we need some results away. He hasn't delivered. The style of play has been too often backwards, he insists on playing shite like Caicedo, Fernandes et al when there's better on the bench. Also, two defensive mids away from home does not work.
On that basis, I feel that Hughes cannot take us forward, and cannot attract the players we're looking to buy, so he needs to go.

Jeesus fooking christ!
All you 'Hughes out'ers really need to get a grip. We need a long term solution here, not a quick fix.
Let Hughes get some real quality then see if we get that top 6 spot next season.

ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY

Without Robinho's goals we could have been looking at relegation this year. I doubt hughes had anything to do with him signing and he will probably want to play elsewhere next year, so with Hughes in charge we might go down.

If I was a spaceman I would have been in space

A. Only looking at RSC as a viable option to our "target man" issue
B. Not making an attacking change at Newcastle when they went down to 10 men deciding to keep Hamman on when we could easily have gone for the jugular by putting another central striker on ( we couldn't have 2 strikers on the pitch at the same time could we?)
C. By playing Micah (already out of form) at LB for 2 games in October when we had 2 natural Left backs available.
D.Fulham at home.
E. Hamburg away and the formation.
F. Today needing a win our attacking midfielder goes off so replace him with a right back/ defensive midfielder and then throw on a player who has only seen the pitch for 25 minutes in maybe 5 months.

I wanted it to work but the facts are it isn't. We are now in a worse position 12 months down the line and £120 million spent, than we were this time last year. I am sick of hearing it is funny league this year ,United will win the league with the most amount of points ever and Fulham who spent less on improving their team than we spent on De Jong are going to qualify for europe after being so close to relegation last year. So why give 1 more year to see if it works out, what if it doesn't and replace him in 1 year what then do we give someone else 2-3 years to get it right? Cut our loses now and look to appoint someone more high profile who can get us were we want and should be. We could be saying the same thing for the next 5-10 years give him time. I am sick of under achieving we will never be a top team with a manager whose first thought is negative.

OP said, "maybe he is a "small" club manager, maybe he isn't - bottom line is we don't know yet".

Will we know when the season is over? Perhaps our finishing position in the league will provide a subtle clue?
