All things City are driving me mad at the moment!

How did you cope in the 90's? If you were there, then think back. If you were'nt, then let's keep the 90's in mind and get things in perspective.

You know, getting a successful team together and winning championships and cups is very difficult. We are very lucky with our owners, and we are expecting great times ahead, but we will always have disappointments. We will not win everything.

Maybe you should assess your expectations.

We lost, it was a pisser, but let's move on, eh?

There is still plenty to play for this season.
its not that mate.i got on with it straight away.i prefered it in the 90's and even more so in the 80's.Maybe its football in general i'm falling out with in this modern day n age. These days where skysports dominate things, big sam and Harry Redknapp are revered by the powers that be.I spend THOUSANDS and on my beloved blues and can see the way its going.I don't like it

I think Man City has been more Man City lately than it has for quite a while! More academy lads on the pitch, lots of heart and drive in MOST of our performances (Everton excluded), and plenty of passion from the fans. I definitely feel more of the "soul" of late, mostly due to Boyata, Ibrahim, etc., joining our existing cast of academy graduates plus the slowdown in signing "superstar" players in favour of developing what we have.

We are playing Portsmouth on Sunday, and there could'nt be a bigger contrast between clubs if you imagined it.

Money makes the world go round, as they say.

It has been 18 years of Premier League football, started by Sky. I don't know how long the Champions League has been around, but you can bet your bottom dollar the teams that wanted it, the teams that wanted the money, so they could dominate football and rule the world, were the 'big 4'.

Perhaps 10 years ago, maybe it was 15 years ago,the 'big 4' wanted to break up the oldest league structure in the world so they could have all their money and piss on the rest of us.

They went public and PLC, they were happy and arrogant, and the rest of us just made the numbers up.

That was the status quo for years, and nothing was going to upset their cartel. Even now, we have the head of UEFA trying to protect their positions.

I remember watching a game at City a few years ago when Pearce was the manager and I was looking around the stadium and getting depressed because, in my heart, I could never, ever, see Champions League football being played at Eastlands.

I was thinking there really is no point, because we are not going to win anything.

The big 4 only became the big 4 because they were lucky enough to qualify for the first season of Champions League football, and they got their millions every year.

No, my friend, I am pleased as punch we can make a dent in that cosy cartel. I also wish teams like Ipswich and Notts Forrest could be with us as well, like it was years ago, but I can't really see that happening.

Football, and the world, has moved on. Let's remember the happy days of the 'big 4' trying to screw the rest of us into the ground, and suddenly we are where we are.

They don't like it, they are looking at ways of stopping us, and you have spent thousands of pounds watching City over the years with no realistic chance of winning anything.

Now is not the time to throw in the towel.

There has never been a better time to be a City fan.

great post buddy

Crying over football, I think not. Thats why I have a dog, so I can kick the shit out of it if we lose. Failing that there's always the wife if it's a big game.

For spending thousands !!!

the rest of your post is miserable to say the least. we've just got beat by our biggest rivals for the second time this season in a nightmare scenario, of course people are going to hate and be a bit obsessed in them. 4 seasons ago we were close to relegation, now we are on the brink of (deserved) european football. we've just sent hundreds of takeaways, taxis, winston churchill statues and pest control too a red that annoyed us in a display of pure city humour that i hope never ever leaves us, and we are now looking forward to the next cup run. up the blues and roll on sunday.

Personally I'm loving it at the moment. We are in the faces of the so called
top 4, we're upsetting the status quo and people don't like it. Well sod 'em,
I think that most of the blues on here have also spent thousands, I know I have
over the last 40 years, but you know what, I don't begrudge a single penny
and I don't use how much I've spent over the years as a justification for
moaning. Get a grip man, you're Blue, act like one.

Football is far from the perfect sport!

I HATE!: all the diving; players rolling around like they've been maimed when there's fuck all up with them; players squaring up to each other as if to kick the shit but actually do fuck all cos they're all soft as shit - footy is a game played by the biggest fairy boys in the world!; players surrounding the ref; players get paid a shit load of money and don't fuckin earn it cos a huge amount of them do not put even half the effort in that they should do; 60% of players on every team with possibly 2/3 exceptions (Chelsea Barca Real) are fuckin shit and do not entertain whatsoever, some players astonish me at how shit they are and they play in high leagues; the droany dull boring constantly sung shit songs that all clubs have, there's no originality with the exception of Liverpool and (makes me sad to say it) United, every other club sing the same shit songs; how footy is in the media totally pro-successful clubs and anti-fuckin-City and don't even bother talkin about some clubs; the arrogance of footy fans who look down on other sports; I could go and on and on........

Then there's our club! we are totally obsessed with United, some of our fans hate United more than they love City - don't get me wrong Rags are scum and the last 2 weeks have well highlighted that to me and I fuckin hate them but not to the point where I'd get a fuckin banner put in OUR GROUND about THEM - that is sad as fuck! it's sad as fuck that they have one aimed at us yet we're prepared to stoop to them realms of sadness - fuck off!; the arrogance that's started to become a promenant feature of blues personalities and views, we used to be a full set of fans who were down to earth and realistic, now we seem to be a bunch of overhyping unrealistic arrogant pricks who've got too much to say for ourselves, yet we've got nowt to be arrogant about so we've got a bit of money but we've won fuck all and we've hardly won a thing in our entire history 2 league titles in 130years, ok a few cup comps in there too but some blues think we're as successful as Villa and Everton but we're not, there are 13 yes 13 club in this country who've won more trophies than we have! plus we rarely fill our home ground and don't always sell our away allocations, yet even Sunderland regularly sell their away allocations!; we have got a shite song back catalogue, it's lame as fuck, we copy 98% of our songs off other clubs, we only sing the same 4/5 at home games and the same 7/8 at away games, we've had one good song since Shaun Goater left (Istanbul) and all the rest are about United or are shite! I hope to fuckin god we don't carry on and on and on and on and on with these 'United in debt' songs all the time now, we've played them now let's get some DECENT pro-City songs goin!; we've been shit for 30years and had players play for us who don't give a fuck about the club and the other night when all but Given and deJong fucked off down the tunnel, the team I finally thought I was connecting with broke that connection as slight as it was!; I still spend all my money on them, totally risk my relationship with my girlfriend because of them, have a few lads I grew up with and used to be top pals with that I can't fuckin stand because they've grown up into arrogant red wankers etc etc etc

But OP, we've got to stick together! if we're puttin all this time money and effort into City let's just remember the few good points there are and plow through it together as there are some decent blues out there! look at the batch of young academy lads comin through and the fact we haven't gone out and spent fuckin stupid amounts on average players this transfer window - that's surely a good thing isn't it!? come on OP CITY TIL I DIE n all that! there must be some reason we love footy/City!
