All things Dogs

Two rescues. One from a puppy farm in Ireland - Bess - a bulldog/beagle mix.
Blue, from a drug dealer's house in Liverpool - a staffie or pit mix at a guess.

Bess had two-three litters by the age of two.
Blue is blind in one eye because of hits to the head.

My life and work are pretty much built around care for them.

Beautiful Dogs, sometimes we as humans don't deserve animals but animal lovers like you most certainly do.

Was in the USA with my son last weekend and he has a nutty dog. Her favourite treat is a stick of celery. I've never heard of a dog that loves celery.

She's also very protective and gets a bit aggressive towards other dogs when they're out. But she's fine with other dogs when she's in daycare. In fact she has a friend she plays happily with but as soon as she's with my son & daughter-in-law she gets aggressive towards the pal she's played nicely with all day.

Yes mine likes all veg, plus would kill for strawberries and melon :)

What breed of dog has everyone ?
I've a staffi, Halle, she"s 10 and utterly adorable.

Got two myself,both girls.
Ones getting on now ,13 and has arthritis and has loads of lumps, she's such a sweet natured, loyal soft arse.
Tother one is 9 and a loon and ridiculously clever for this breed.
Great dogs, but it'll kill me when they pass away so not likely to get any more.

Yeah this breed are prone to skin issues.
We had a tumour removed from the older girl 18 months ago but won't be putting her through any more procedures at her age.
I'm away on holiday at the mo and know the dogs will go crazy when I get home.
Mind you, they do that when I've come back from the corner shop
Ha ha.

Mine love white cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, carrots, peas, banana, orange, apple, strawberry, raspberry, blackberries and their favourite - watermelon. I've actually never tried celery, but I will now!
They eat raw meat and veg/fruit every meal.

Non-dog owner signing in.

I can't think of anything more lovely than being sat with a nice glass of something, log burner roaring, and a pair of golden retrievers or golden labradors asleep on the rug.

Trouble is, wife and I both don't want our lives to revolve around dogs (or at least have that responsibility 24/7), and I also have no desire to feel the terrible sadness when you lose them.

We know many people with dogs, and each summer we go dog sitting in Tavistock for two rather excellent weeks for friends, so we know the score.

Wife will possibly get one if I shuffle off this mortal coil first, and to those of you who look after dogs in need I salute you.

I know, same as you are out for 10 minutes or a week :)
Mine has a big lump on the back of her neck, its rock hard and the vet said its just a hard lump nothing to worry about, she also has softer ones on her ribs, was the one you had removed a spongy one ?

got a staffie coss pitty puppy lovely little thing but would eat shit if you let him
Both of mine were underfed as young dogs and will eat anything they find.
I live at the edge of a large park. It is truly beautiful, but sunny weekends are a nightmare as too many people leave their picnic waste strewn around and the dogs are obsessed with locating the scraps.
