All things Jack Grealish

Jack can protect the ball better than most. It's been an issue this season and I believe he would be able to help us next.
Has it? The issue has been a lack of goals/end product or even just general threat to goal from our attack behind Haaland. Grealish doesn't help with that. If he is on the pitch, that means doku isn't or cherki isn't or foden or semenyo, all of whom offer a significantly bigger goal threat. Remember, Grealish has a city goal scoring record similar to Savinho who most seem to want rid of for a lack of end product.

Always felt that Jack was playing within himself a bit under Pep's system. If he can come back and be an option to play when Cherki needs rest or is out of form it's a no brainer for me - I wouldn't want to see him put in on the left wing again because we need more goal threat and I think Doku will get to 10 goals next season - bookmark that ha! I would love Jack to play with freedom and expression and see where that takes him.

I remember 2 seasons ago he played as a 10 in a game (can't recall which exact one) and he was motm only to be put back on the bench the next game then back on the wing when he returned to the 11.

We'll soon find out if it's paper talk but the lad does seem to like all things City which is a bonus.

Slightly better overall contribution than Savinho as a squad player , edging it with ball retention inc drawing fouls .
As stated above , get £60m for Savinho , wd feel a bit like getting a free ( squad ) player replacement if the professionalism issues are addressed …
By Maresca ( apparently ) stating this it may also force Everton to make a sensible offer to us rather than hoping to keep a £100m signing on loan , which irks …

Jack couldn't handle the high standards year in year out. I love the lad but that's it.

Has there been any notable cases of established big name players being sent out loan because their time looked up, only to come back and be an important part of the team the next season?

Obviously not including young lads being sent out to gain experience

I hope he comes back to us and says he has been to Rehab, and is using Paul Merson, Tony Adams and Gazza as proof that they all have been to prison, been to Rehab or twatted their wife and still got to play for England again and are called legends/Maverics. Its funny how no footballer ever has had the grief that Grelish gets every time that he has a beer.

Bryan Robson, Paul McGrah, Norman Whiteside, George Best, Razor Ruddock, Ray Parlor, all alcoholics but are celebrated and never criticised!

Not one of them have won more trophies in their careers than Grelish won in 3 seasons at City. It baffles me how he is described as a failure who ruined his career at City

Sorry, did I miss something ? Has Maresca been confirmed yet ?

I highly doubt he having talks or even planning talks with any player or their representatives at this stage.

I'd be seriously very worried if he hasn't planed who he wants in his squad next season mate, he will have been asked about his potential targets the first time City approached him. He will have been asked about his plans for most of the squad, Jack would not be carrying out a trophy at the parade if he wasn't part of the plans next season!

If KK could play Ali B & Berko in the same team...
Unless my memory is fading, that did not happen very often due to injuries.
Recent years have been fantastic but that season is still one of my favourites. We were far too good for that division and ran riot with relentless attacking football. Ali B and Berko were brilliant.

Just had a look at the stats for that season, Ali started 38 games, Berko 20 with 5 from the bench.

What also surprised me was yourself and Nash sharing duties....you kept that quiet. ;)

That's interesting. I seem to remember that they never played together enough.
My memory is definitely fading. I can't even remember playing.

To get back on topic, I would love to see Jack back in the team playing more centrally. If he wants to play for a big team then he will have to accept that he will be part of a squad system and earn his place on merit.
From the little I have read, Maresca seems to value keeping possession, Jack is very good at that.

Tomorrow's back pages are suggesting that Maresca wants Grealish back.
Aimed at the papers and not at you. A manager we haven’t yet appointed or announced, is speaking to a player who is still technically at Everton, without the clubs themselves having yet discussed the activation of his pre-agreed permanent move clause? Yes they didn't make anything up there.
