All things Jack Grealish

Anybody slagging him off would do well to go and rewatch our treble winning season. Jack absolutely integral in all of it.

Played out of position constantly. Thrown in as a 10 once against Forest and absolutely tore the pitch up.

Stick him as a 10 behind Haaland and you'll see the player Jack is.

Why did we agree to the £50m sell on clause in the contract if there was absolutely no chance that Everton were ever going to pay it?

Payed a fortune for him. Gave him the number 10 shirt. Played him there once.

Nice lad but apart from one season that he tailed off in the end he was average at best.

Would love to see him back and given a more free role in the team

Pep didn't give him one when he was here and a regular, so there's no chance he comes back and gets a role like that.

Apart from a few possible friendlies in the summer, I doubt he kicks a ball for us again

Playing him left wing is playing him out of position?

It's the position he's played the entirety of his career.

When we signed him, many of us thought he would be converted into a central player because of his attributes. He made his debut playing as a 10 against Spurs away, then we didn't see him there again. Pep tried him as a false 9 a couple of times - then abandoned it. He then played as a left winger for 4 years. Just as he did for Villa, England and now Everton.

His heat map shows lefts sided player mainly Lw for Villa

From where did this central midfielder or 10 come from ? Or this is something retrospective change of view like people had here for Jesus when he couldn’t hack as striker people here said he is winger ?

Pep likes intelligent players which I why the likes of Eric Garcia and Rico Lewis were played in the first team despite lacking physical attributes. In terms of physicality Jack outdoes Bernado every day of the week but which one would you trust to be your leader on the pitch?
I like Jack but he seems only able to perform a limited role. We need intelligent leaders in the middle and it is O'Reilly who is likely to grow into that role.
