I guess you don't watch much of Man Utd?, Rooneys stats from last season, you will see he scored against nearly all the 'big' sides including 4 against Milan.
He was the highest scorer in the Woeld Cup qualifying and check the stats at the end of the season, he didn't score for Man Utd after his injury and he is still getting over it imo.

Nice bit of selective quoting there. If you'd bothered to quote the rest you'll remember that I also said that it's not Rooney's fault that he's been put on a pedestal by the rag media and compared to the likes of Messi.

And as for stats....they can tell you anything mate. For instance...

Sven is the fourth most decorated manager in the history of football.
He has a better win record than Sir Alf.He got us a double over the rags with a team he built in four weeks..and yet to others on here he'll only be remembered for losing 8-1 to Boro..

Last season,Martin Petrov scored at a packed Nou Camp as City beat Barca 1-0...to add to our previous 2-1 victory at CoMs in 2003....according to the stats, City are therefore better than Barca?

Tevez scored more goals league against Chelsea last season than Rooney did...he didn't score any,did he?Does that,by definition, make Tevez a better player for scoring against the champions?

Drogba scored more league goals than Rooney...again-statitiscally a better player?

Lets have it right-Rooney would probably walk into most teams-at least in England.
BUT-he is not on the same footballing planet to players that he's been compared to by the rag hype machine-the likes of Maradona,Messi or Iniesta.
He's been built up by the usual tossers in the red-top tabloids into "the player to win the WC for England" in the way Maradona did for Aregentina....but in terms of "World class players"....in reality he's not even fit to tie the laces of the players I've just mentioned.

Well my friend that is spot on. Great post

Sounds to me like they are going to suspend him or summat Pam.

Spot of garden leave, hopefully. No good will come of him hanging about the swamp for another three months. End the feud quickly is what I say and let him start training with us.

Wanted to post this on its own thread but despite being a member from the early days, I didn't meet the criteria on the waffleometer

It'll probablly get lost in here so if someone feels it should reach a wider audience feel free to repost

Basically it's Rag TV's very own Paddy Crerand getting interviewed on Irish radio this morning. Crerand hung up in the end but not before giving answers that were wrong on so many levels. What Crerand didn't know is that the interviewer (Ivan Yates) is a City fan. Yates quote when Crerand hangs up is priceless.

Yes that would be the most useful if he is coming to us. i am getting my threads mixed up.. i have just posted on the statement thread and someone else has on here asking if a player can change clubs either on loan or whatever outside the window even if maybe he can't play until his registration in the window??

oh!!!! stop nicking my posts yer thieving twat,is you name rooney or smut?;-)

Re: All things Rooney! [Merged]

I'm confussed.
How can tommorow be "the end of it"??
I mean even if United confirm they are selling him in January there will still be speculation about where he will go, leaving United slap dab in the middle of a saga.
The only thing United can do to put it to bed is "We are selling Rooney, in Jan, to (enter club name here)"

If what people are saying is right he could be gettin loaned out,but were just gonna have to wait and see

Re: All things Rooney! [Merged]

Very confusing?????? fergie.... "the door is still open" then 2 secs later "this will be put to bed tomorrow"

He has also said rooney will not be fine!

WTF has that pissed up scottish twat got up his sleeve?

Could he tell wayne we have decided to prove our ambition and spend? (yes i know we think they're skint) but still how would rooney sneak out of that one??

Re: All things Rooney! [Merged]

does he not know mutv is a joint venture with $ky (not for long mind)

paddy crerand is such an asshole. knows the gravy train of his old boys network is about to hit the buffers and leave him a sad meaningless old man whose opinion is an utter irrelevance

Worth listening to for the sound of a man about to have a cardiac and Ivan Yates cool coup de grace

Re: All things Rooney! [Merged]

if fergie pisses rooney off could help our cause could make rooney think fuck that im off to city just to piss fergie off

Hmmmm i was mulling this over, as far as the world is concerned rooneys move is not motivated by money but ambition..... (i think its mainly money and a wee bit of ambition) so what if the rags have had this meeting and called rooneys bluff and said look wayne we are spending big in jan/summer????

Rooney has put himself into a bit of a corner here imo.

They could also just say we are putting yopu on garden leave and you are transfer listed??
