So far, we've had an old fave of mine from the T Heads, some weak-to-awful records by artists I know, and a record by an artist I didn't know. Now we have a band I haven't listened to in decades but which I certainly remember hearing a TON on AOR radio 40+ years ago. Sure enough, 7/8ths of these tunes were buried deep in my memory. I always thought these fellows a bit better than okay -- good/decent/fine/solid, never great. I wouldn't turn up their songs when they came on 105.3 FM, but I wouldn't flip the station over either.
Re-listening, I enjoyed re-hearing these old creaky numbers more than I thought I would -- I even kind of missed them a bit ("Can't Get Enough" and "Movin' On" for example, and "Bad Company" particularly -- I always loved the drums before the tempo change in the chorus). Wow, nostalgia! Having said that, they are good like Foreigner was good, not like Led Zep was good. There are blues rockers I like more than these guys (plenty), but this was a nice trip down memory lane. And I 100% concur with those (@Marklr, ahem, cough, cough) who think a spliff would be a nice accompaniment.
6-point-something out of 10, rounded down to 6/10.
