Seems they both got themselves sent off last night so they will be able to come back into the Real side with a clean slate by the knockout stages of the CL. Got to be something wrong with the system if they can get away with this.

ssn showed the incidents this morning. both blatantly time wasted, alonso running backwards & forwards & generally dicking around when taking a free kick & ramos pulling his socks up, standing around & showing no sign of being about to take a goal kick.

beckham did likewise a few years ago, deliberately getting a yellow against wales for needlessly flattening robbie savage so he'd be suspended for england's unimportant next game & keeping him clear for the more important following game.

I remember the Beckham incident but I can't work out why cards that players have been given don't get carried through for the whole of the tournament. That would be the only way to stop what is basically cheating.

There will no doubt have been a decision taken at an early stage to make all the players available on the grounds that the competition would be diminished without them(?) which means that it would benefit the likes of the Real Madrids, Barcas and MANUres of the comp and to maximise Uefa's revenue.

It was a disgrace. Id be very surprised if Real or the players get any sort of punishment because of who they are. They will probably say the referee took care off the incident so theres nothing they can do but we all know thats bullshit and they will do something if the club is small

Don't blame them. Why run the risk of a Fletcher style incident and miss a CL semi or final?

UEFA should give them an extra match ban for unsporting behaviour. The chances of that happening to a team like Real however is zero!

Don't blame Mourinho, we all know that Wenger and Ferguson would have used that option if they needed to. UEFA should immediately rescind the rule that stops yellow cards being carried over.

Technically it is not cheating as they have not broken any rules....

It is not in the spirit of the game or fair play......

It just goes to show Mourinho's attention to detail......
