Alternatives to Falcao, Cavani and Gotze?

Dzeko is poor in the air. The fucker rarely jumps. I lost count the amount of times he just stood there and let everyone jump behind him and win the ball on Sunday.

Falcao is fantastic in the air and despite his small frame wins alot of headers to both score goals and generally winning the ball to flick it on etc.

dzeko is not poor in the air, we dont cross the ball in to him and play to his strengths, at wolfsburg he was great in the air.

Dont know who we will get.

Cavani- I can see going to Madrid
Falcoa- chelsea or Madrid for me
Gotze- Bayern
Isco- Monaco ???
Bale- ?????

So you see all our targets moving elsewhere........ barrel of optimism :)

yep based on different news ,like cavani apparently preffering madrid, same with falcoa. Gotze already gone, monaco have bid for isco.

I'd prefer Falcao to Cavani. He's so rapid! His balance and agility reminds me of Messi a bit. Saying that if Dzeko goes, we're lacking a bit of height up front.

What the fuck is the point of crossing the ball if that is his win percentage?
I don't care what he did at Wolfsburg, he scored 30yrd screamers and had great close control and dribbling as well. Not seen any of that since hes been here.

I wouldn't want Gomez from Bayern at City, as I think the others listed above are far better.

I would prefer Falcao but if we want to save some money then his replacement at Porto would surely be the way to go, a younger player who is also very quick.

Bale isn't quite the same player as Goetze, and may cost a bit more but if we could bring in Reus then he would be just as good an option.

I think that it is also important for City to improve the heart of our midfield. Barry is still underrated by a lot of fans, but he is getting older and if Gundogan can't be bought then maybe Vidal should be on the list. I think if City can get a player at the right price this summer then we need to start thinking about a long term replacement for Yaya (plus he will get injured for part of the season, even if he isn't at the ACON). Draxler would be a good option, or Eriksen is current flavour of the month.

I know with FFP we couldn't sign all of the players above, and I for one would much prefer City's scouts to find the up and coming Lewandowski's for 4 million like Dortmund do. Or the next Falcao or Martinez like Porto can. Surely we can find some decent scouts to add/replace the ones we currently have. Other people on this forum were talking about Reus two or three years ago, so I can't see why other football people couldn't see how good he would become. There quite a few other examples of good young players being spotted on football forums a good few years before the mainstream press start noticing how good these players are. Even Nastisic isn't getting the plaudits he deserves from our press. He should certainly be in line for Young Player of the Year this season.
