They did the same to Dovbyk and he told them to fuck off. They seem to tell the player a certain figure, then after it’s agreed with the club, they offer the player less than they had originally said, as they seem to think they have their heart set on the move by that point. Alvarez wouldn’t be the first this window to tell them to do one.

Not hostile, just don't think we should set a precedent that you can fuck about with our transfer plans.

We are incredibly accommodating in letting players go, but that only works if they know not to mess us about - if you're going, and we agree a deal, then you go and that's that. Don't push for a move all summer if you're not ready to leave.
